This is a review of "Luxury 850+ Fill Power 100% Cotton Goose Feather Down Comforter Queen Size - 1000TC All Season Medium Warmth Duvet Insert + 8 Corner Tabs + Extra Fluffy 3D Baffle Box - Queen 90 X 90" I've been using this for about a month at the tail end of the winter season in California where the night-time temperatures in my bedroom are around 58-62 degrees F. This is a seriously warm comforter, best suited for winter temperatures, and I wouldn't recommend this for year-round use. The quality is very high, especially for the money. 1000 TC keeps the feathers and down in, the quilting keeps it well distributed, and it's very nice and fluffy now that it's been dried a couple of cycles. The shell is still makes crackly sounds, but I'm expecting that will diminish over time the more times it's washed. It came vacuum packed, so I ran it through the dryer once before I tried it for the first time, as recommended by the manufacturer. I'm very happy with all aspects of this duvet and recommend it highly!

I am autistic and down blankets have become my thing for years. Sadly, I've run into way too many issues trying to source good down blankets that don't incorporate feathers which always work their way out and poke me while littering my bedroom. Have you ever inhaled a feather while sleeping? I have. My old down blanket, well loved, has sprung a leak and I wanted to replace it so here I am. This blanket shipped vacuum sealed and arrived pretty flat. I recommend possibly throwing it in a cold drier to fluff it a bit after arrival if you don't opt into an initial wash before use. I am actually really pleased with this comforter which hits most of the necessary points for being a high quality down comforter from my many years of experience. I was really surprised this shipped with a draw string storage bag which is awesome for the off months of no use. Well manufactured with good even finished stitching, no hanging threads and nice reinforced rolled edge. The fabric is high thread count crisp soft cotton reducing the risk of feather escape. This comforter is baffled keeping your fluff evenly distributed through out and decreasing potential cold spots. I love the fact the tag does mention that the feathers have been sanitized, and while that seems like a given, on some of the bedding I've ordered I've had to question. I found almost NO loose down in the packaging with the exception of some fine fluff along the edge seam from manufacturing and feeling the fill I do not feel ANY quills. While this does use some cut feather fluff, this obviously is a finer fill which reflects a better quality blanket. I also love the 8 points of duvet ties rather than many comforters that might only have 4 which cause the comforter to sag and shift with in the duvet. This comforter IS washable but will need to be hung to dry or tumbled on a cold setting and is recommended that it is dried completely prior to use or storage as, I suspect, down is more prone to mildew. This comforter is tagged as being "down pass certified" which appears to be a international standard of animal welfare and quality control. A website address is located on the tag. This is wonderful, however I found it difficult to run their certification number on the Downpass website even after website translation. I couldn't verify the number. This may be because the country of origin drop down menu doesn't list China even though their front page does or because the certification number is too new to have been added to the data base just yet. Regardless, this certification is still in question for me. The final note about this comforter I would like to mention is that this is an "all seasons" blanket and therefore actually pretty thin even when fluffed. If utilizing this for winter purposes you many find it necessary to pair this with another blanket for additional warmth depending on temp, however it works better during summer months because it's not too thick thus the "all seasons" rating. If you are looking for a really fluffy down comforter, this probably isn't the blanket for you. Overall, this is one of the best quality down comforters I've found, in regards to quality, even though I wish it was a bit thicker. Depending on your needs and affirmed quality control, this may actually be a 5 star blanket. I picked up a 'queen' and at the present price of $149.99 with a $70 coupon, that makes this incredibly affordable. More than anything, I'm just thrilled by the non feather quill fill. Thank you!

Wow. I can’t believe a down comforter with these specs exists at this price point. 1000 thread count cotton shell, 850+ fill power goose down, certified humane sourcing?!? I’m seriously wow'd. Personally, ethical down is very important to me. This comforter is certified by both: ✅ RDS (Responsible Down Standard) – Global, third-party-verified certification ensuring the geese were treated humanely ✅ DOWNPASS – European-based standard focused on ethical sourcing and traceability throughout the supply chain Now the quality: ✔ 850+ fill power is no joke. “Good” down starts around 550; this near elite-tier loft level. Why does that matter? Higher loft = more warmth with less weight. Also, higher loft comes from feathers with stronger, mature filaments that resist breaking down over time, which equals better durability. ✔ 1000TC cotton is dense, breathable, and naturally strong. No feathers poking through here! ✔ The baffle-box construction and overall craftsmanship suggest this could last a decade with care. 🔎 Quick comparison: I own a queen comforter from a well-known department store that’s 'only' 700 fill, 500TC cotton, and it retailed for $800. So, yeah. 🤯 About the so-called “down-sides” (pun intended 😝): ➞ It’s underwhelming and flat right out of the vacuum-sealed bag. No surprise there. I tossed mine in the dryer on low for 30 minutes and it fluffed up like a cloud. ➞ The cotton shell is a bit crinkly and wrinkled at first. Same thing happened with my pricier department store one. It will soften up a lot over time. Even faster, put it through a wash and dry cycle (cold water, low heat). ➞ It’s “goose down,” not specifically “white goose down,” so there might be some natural color variation in the fill. I haven’t seen any through the dense shell, but honestly... that’s why duvet covers exist. (Seriously, all comforters deserve the protection of a duvet!) 💡 Bonus tips! Avoid enzyme-based detergents (like the most popular US brand) when washing down. Down, like silk, cashmere, and wool, is protein-based—enzymes will literally eat away at it! Also, gentle detergent is important to preserve loft and longevity. Down has natural oils within the feathers that wick away moisture and protect them from becoming dry & brittle. Harsh detergents can strip that away. TLDR: This comforter is high-loft, high-thread-count, high-integrity luxury at a price that feels like a typo. If there’s a better combo of quality, price, and ethics out there, I haven’t found it.

I did however elect to DOUBLE UP my comforters inside of my duvet instead of simply replacing my old one like I intended too. I've VERY happy with the result, but was hoping it would have more of a fill value on it's own.

This is lovely quality-wise and is made very well! It has a nice weight to it as well and keeps you warm. I like that it's an authentic down comforter. It came in a medium sized box and was packed very well. It got super fluffy and full after being aired out and fluffed. Would definitely recommend!
