For the "Aesthetic" coded ones: -These are not the best looking bookcases but I bought them to customize so it doesn't bother me. However, If you are into details these may very well not be for you. For starters they come with plain ole' stickers to cover the screws and holes that are visible from the exterior and the color don't match, also they don't stay stuck there. I fixed this with some putty but again, it's because I'm building something else, if you are not then you may wanna just leave the screws visible. -The white melamine sheet that covers the MDF is extremely fragil, so be careful to build this over a blanket or something soft. On Size: The height is perfect, the width is perfect ans the depth is godtier if you need skinny but wide bookshelves. Material/quality and /or durability: First note here: The holes were the two halves attach are not drilled all the way so you may need to fix this yourself or else the top half will end-up tilted (It happened on one of ours in one corner). The MDF seems average and the the melamine sheet on top is not the best quality, so I'd recommend not having this in an area with children that may be on the "hyper" energetic side of life. or any high traffic area where people may bump into them. I have extra melamine to replace chipped parts but I can see this being a huge issue to a non crafty person. In terms of Ease of Assembly: I am a crafter and a builder so it took me about 40 mins per bookcase (It would have been less with help). But, if you are not skilled with tools, don't have a drill and aren't strong enough to build this baby alone it will take a long time. Also, Instructions may not be the most user friendly if you are not a visual person. So, I recommend you first make sure all parts are ok, that you received all tools and hardware and that you lay all pieces in order before you start building. Functionality: It does its job well. I'd recommend you measure the majority of your books before purchasing because not all books will fit, but most of them probably will. ... show more

It took no time for my husband to put it together but he needed a person stronger and taller than me to get the top shelf unit positioned, only because of it being large and awkward. Bought one shelf and it was so perfect I decided to get another. Nice tall shelf that hold the cubes from the dollar tree perfectly. 2 per shelf gives me ample storage! For me the width and height was just perfect for my walk in closet.
