Features of insert nut: These threaded inserts are inserted into a pre-drilled hole by screwing in, in that case the external protrusions bite into the wood, preventing the nut from either turning or pulling out. Suitable application: Easy to install and with good stability, have a good effect in the furniture combination, suit for all Furniture woods of pine, plywood, fiberboard, etc.. How to use: pre-drill/ drill a suitably sized hole and enter with an Allen tool screw. PS：1. The hole depth is 1-2mm longer than furniture screw; 2. If that hardness of the wood material is high, enlarged a little bit the screw hole to fit the screw. I believe these sturdy little jewels will prove superior to just putting a couple wood screws through the speaker brackets into what studs i may find. I have 3/4" thick wood paneling that i put these into to hang brackets and an old fashioned speaker. Put them into the particle board backside of the speakers, too, to mount the bracket to the speaker. Easy to use, but a few extra steps necessary to use them, but so what? They work better. I don't have to worry about a couple screws pulling out or stripping their threads in particleboard. So now i have two heavy speakers mounted using these in both the wall and in the speaker with enough staying power that i don't worry about a speaker dropping on my head. Good, sturdy fasteners. Decent quality. Drill bit and installation wrench are a bonus. If you are installing more than a few cut off short bend of wrench and use the long straight section in your drill/driver. Works great.

I wanted to reposition the arms on several chairs, so I needed something that could withstand a lot of pull out force. These inserts (1/4 - 20 x15 mm) filled the bill. The drill bit and hex wrench that came with the inserts worked perfectly. I tried out the inserts in a piece of scrap wood first to make sure the hole size, and insertion tool would work. The drill bit and hex wrench that came with the inserts worked perfectly, and the machine screw was easy to get started. I only used 8 of the inserts for this project, but it was still way more economical to buy this large quantity than to go to a home improvement store to buy a few inserts inserts and a drill bit. ... show more

I had an old desk. Instead of getting rid of it, I decided to use it in my garage. To make this more functional, I decided to put caster wheels on the legs to move it around. These threaded nuts worked perfectly. Bought the caster wheels and now my table can be moved around.

Bought these inserts for use in making small end tables, I used 5/8 inch walnut dowels, I should have used bigger dowels the 1/4-20 inserts I bought are a bit too big for a 5/8 dowels so if your using long dowls for legs I suggest using 3/4-1 inch dowels, so splitting of your dowls won't be a problem. I've seen rustic live edge tables using this type of hardware using like sized tree limbs which are bigger in diameter with no chance of cracking from the steel leg insert. Roger ... show more
