  • TABLE LOCKS JUST FINE! Watch out for typo in the instructions!
At first the table on mine wasn't locking, but check it out... The assembly directions in the manual are just incorrect, that's crazy! no wonder why so many people are having this same problem. Duh! Because like me they were simply following directions. Woops! In addition to the typed instructions the product photos and illustrations also show the table lock installed from the wrong side. Same thing with all the photos on Amazon's product page. To fix the problem with the table sliding down and not locking in position, simply reinstall the locking screw gizmo on the opposite side. Do not follow the instructions in the owners manual, they aren't steering you straight! For good measure I took a photo of it installed on the RIGHT side. It's about as easy to fix as it gets. I keep imagining somebody working as a higher up for this company looking totally distraught and defeated having a really bad day whenever this problem was first discovered.. Pretty amateur stuff really. It doesn't look good. Man oh man, but what a classic SNAFU. I think it's friggin hilarious. ... show more

  • Quality
I was looking for a product made in the USA and this fit the bill, plenty of power to get what I need done. I’m just an average woodworker but this is an above average drill press. Easy to assemble, laser light switch for when you need a pinpoint spot, easy drive belt adjustment screw requires no tools just hand loosen the wing nut and retighten by hand so easy, low noise , just a great American drill press. Cool yellow color as well. I had an old drill press a duracraft but the new chuck was 125 dollars this new woodskil was 98 bucks plus tax so new versus old was a no brainer. ... show more

  • Worked Great..... for about 20 minutes
I needed a drill press for a project that I was doing turning a whiskey barrel stave into a shotglass flight holder. I was making a set of 6, but this drill press stopped working after finishing only the 2nd one. Appling any pressure at all to drill out the holes, would cause the motor to just stop completely. I wound up having to do all the rest with a hand drill, which is what I wanted to avoid doing in the first place, and thus the purchase of this item. The Lazer was spot on, that's a good thing. I tried contacting Woodskil customer service requesting both email and a phone call, and after 2 days, I have heard absolutely nothing back from them and this drill press is now boxed back up and getting returned. For the few minutes that it worked, it worked great and I had high hopes. But unfortunately this press had a 20 minutes life span. ... show more

  • pros and cons
pros;easy to relocate, ajust speed, change bits, cons;hard to center table with bit ,ajust bit depth and clamping work to table. although building a work table to attaching it will solve all issues overall it a great press for the price.i have been using the press for a year now and it still works like the day I got it .I did build a table for it and it helped tremendously and it was easy to do two thumbs up ... show more

  • Works great.
I love it, perfect for my little shop. I did put the pin in backwards at first and it kept slipping down, but once I turned that around it’s been great. I can’t blame the machine for my stupidity.

  • Sturdy built, good power
Love this small drill, although it is small it has great power and can easily drill a 3/4 inch hole in pine or spruce wood. Haven't tried it on anything else. I drilled forty-five 11/16th holes in 3/4 inch spruce and the last one drilled as easy as the first. Solid metal construction. Manual adjust of the drill plate would have been easier if it had an adjustment knob that you could turn to adjust but otherwise a great little drill. ... show more

  • drill press
The drill press arrived quickly and was packaged well. No damage. It was very easy to assemble. Took less than a half hour. I like the laser feature. It seems to very accurate. It runs very smooth. The laser comes on as soon as it is plugged in. I would prefer a switch to turn it on and off. I will most likely rig up a switch so I don't have to unplug it. Bare in mind this is a light duty drill pres so it has it's limitations. Overall it is a nice unit. ... show more
