I really like how completely self contained this stick/tripod is. There are no bolts, clamps or other things sticking out that might catch on a sweater or scratch something in my backpack. It's just a clean cylinder 1.5" diameter by about 14.5". It opens so simply into a stable tripod or you can just pull out the stick for a selfie stick. The telescoping stick is friction held aluminum tubes. Very sturdy. It's got a cold shoe on top and clamping phone holder. The selfie button snaps into the handle so you don't lose it but you can detach it if you need to use it remotely. It's exceptional with the following minor issues: 1. The tripod is not adjustable so if you are on uneven ground, the pole will not be plumb. You can minimize this by putting one leg towards the down side but really no adjustment. To the designer, if you added a small telescoping foot to one of the tripod legs it would resolve this issue. You only need one since it is a tripod. 2. Relating to issue #1, if the tripod is not plumb your camera will not be level. The camera can rotate but there are detents at 45 degree intervals. In between you can get it to stay but say your tripod has a 7 degree tilt there is no way to rotate only 7 degrees. It will snap back to the detent. To some degree you may be able to put your phone at an angle in the actual clamp but it would be nice to have no detent or a way to release the detent. I can pull my phone to an angle in the grip but it wants to slide back. If you are using for selfie you probably want these detents for quick orientation of the phone. If you are primarily tripod user you may find the detents annoying. To the designer, I think they should just have a friction rotation joint at this location. They use plastic teeth to create the detent action. If they instead used a ball and detents they could retract the ball with a lever for free rotation. For the To anyone that wants to convert to no detents... There is a removable plastic cover on the back of the rotation point. Pry the cover off, remove the screw, remove the spring, separate the clamp from the stick and file down the teeth on the stick side. Reassemble and it will rotate without detents only restricted by the friction of the joint and the spring tension.

This selfie stick has so many good qualities. It's clear to me that the people who created this really thought carefully through every aspect of a selfie, anticipating the consumer's needs for both a selfie stick and a tripod. The stick itself feels structurally sound and quite durable. I love how sturdy it feels in my hands. The detachable remote was a huge selling point for me as it takes away my worries about setting a shutter timer or any other work-arounds to having someone else take our picture. It will also simplify taking family photos around the holidays. They even included an extra battery just for the remote. The tripod is very sturdy because it provides a wide base. The mechanism that holds the phone could be a little more sturdy, in my opinion, especially when using it as a selfie stick and holding the base in my hand. However, I can't think of any situation where I would use the selfie stick fully-extended. In addition, I like that it's bluetooth-compatible. There's no need to keep wires on hand or worry about one making it into the picture. Overall, I am very impressed with this product and will certainly use it for all of my family get-togethers moving forward.

I feel like as a mom I don’t get to be in a lot of the pictures taken of my kids since I’m usually the one taking the pictures. That’s an issue for me and I don’t like it. Now thanks to this cool little gadget I can now still take the pictures of my family while also being including in them. The remote works like it should and allows me to easily hide it in my hand while smiling for the camera with the rest of my family. And the tripod holds my phone at whatever height I need it to. I believe there is also a spot on the tripod where you can hook a light to it if you ever wanted to get super professional about it. I’m just happy to be able to make memories with my kids together for once.

When I can figure out how to take a pic of this in action with only one phone I'll add that. In the meantime just a review will have to do. I hooked this tripod up to my android phone in about 2 seconds.......... well, maybe it was more like 30 seconds, but it connected so easy and the remote works flawlessly. They even send an extra battery (CR2032) with the tripod so you don't get stuck out in the wilds without a spare. The tripod is sturdy and the phone holder works better than any other selfi stick I've ever had. Very happy I took a chance on this one. Tomorrow is the eclipse here in the US and we will be using it then with a filter on my camera of course. REALLY, REALLY HAPPY with this one. BOTTOM LINE is YES! Iwoill recommend this to anybody looking for a good tripod selfie stick for their phone. I love the remote and the ease of the bluetooth connection. UPDATE: Actually same day, I just figured out I'd put an old phone on the tripod and take a picture of it. NOW with the addition of 2 pictures you can see the remote and how it attaches to the camera. It's very easy to remove and hold in your hand or just leave it on the tripod for storage. Well, that's the UPDATE so I hope it helps you out and I STILL would recommend this tripod.
