  • Quick, easy, cheap tire repair.
Easy to use & works great. First the ad show a photo of someone fixing a tire by putting the screw into the sidewall. You can’t repair the sidewall safely. Also most place will not attempt to repair a tire with sidewall damage, even from a nail. The next problem with the ad, it say 70 tire repair screws, 30 small & 30 large lol. The set I got has 70 pieces, I counted them. Not that the ad mistake are a problem. As for as the product, I used one on my motorcycle, one on my Chevy Cruze, & one on my Pacifica. Sense everyone in the neighborhood has been getting new roofs on there houses I have been getting nails in my tires. Once the nail is removed I match the size of repair screws with the size of the nail. All you have to do is screw the rubber coated screw into the hole the nail was removed from. Just be careful not to screw it in too far or it will go through the tire. If it on the tread you can install the screw through the tread some & the screw is not visible. The screwdriver that comes with the kit is not very good. I would suggest getting a better screwdriver. The size of the screws are good for nail size holes. Even though tire plugs are a temporary solution, I have had the one on my motorcycle for 6 months or longer with no leakage. The rubber on the screw seals the hole good. The price is great for these plug /screws. One use would pay for the whole set. Also when driving with the plug / screw installed in the tread, I hear no noise, like a normal screw or nail would make. I keep these plug / screws in every vehicle I have, just in case I need them. The screws come in individual plastic containers to protect them. The screws / containers come in a plastic case to keep them in. ... show more

  • Worked for me, so far.
I thought it could be quite a while before I'd be able to test these. I actually hoped to never have to "test" them (i.e., never get a flat tire), but about two weeks after receiving them, I came out of my house to find a flat tire on my truck. I inflated the tire and found a small puncture in the tread; a perfect opportunity to test one of these plugs. It was incredibly easy to use. Unlike traditional plug kits that require reaming the hole, inserting a sticky rope, and trimming the excess, these screw-in plugs are as simple as using a screwdriver. If you don’t want to deal with messy adhesives or don’t have experience with tire repair, that convenience is a major plus. With respect to this particular kit, the tiny included "baby's first screwdriver" was useless. Keep a full-sized Phillips-head screwdriver with this kit. That being said, after screwing in the plug, and refilling the tire, it held air; and a spray of soapy water around the plug showed no air was leaking. However, because they don’t bond to the rubber the way traditional plugs or patches do, they rely mostly on mechanical pressure to seal the hole (although they do have some rubber cement-type of goop on the threads). That means they could be more prone to slow leaks over time, especially with temperature changes; also, with sustained highway driving, vibrations and tire flex may loosen them. I'm still riding two days after the fix, and I'll keep going, as an experiment, to see how long this plug holds up. So, the bottom line, in my opinion: these screw-in tire repair plugs can work as an emergency solution. They’d be great for getting you out of a jam on the side of the road with minimal effort, but they shouldn’t replace a proper repair. If you carry them, think of them as a convenience tool—not a long-term fix. Overall -- 4 stars, because the kit needed a bigger screwdriver. ... show more

  • They actually work!
I am happy with this item. I ordered these to have on hand for use with my Kubota zero turn mower and they work great. I really didn't expect them to work very well for automotive use but I can report that I was wrong and they actually work really well. I live in a rural area and we're always getting holes in our tires and it just so happened I got a nail in one the day after these arrived. I decided to give it a shot and I'm happy to report they seem to work just as well as a traditional tire plug. They are a metal screw but have a rubber coating on them that seals the tire when they are screwed into the hole. I had intended to go back and fix it better but it has been installed for several weeks and it hasn't backed out of the hole at all and it's not leaking. Overall, I think these are actually a good replacement for traditional plugs and way easier to install. I would definitely consider storing them with a better quality screwdriver than the one they came with. It stripped out pretty quickly. Other than that these are fantastic and I'd definitely recommend them to keep on hand for emergencies. ... show more

  • For quick tire repairs
I feel like these could work for some punctures but not all kinds. The pack comes with 2 different sizes and a little screwdriver (which I think it would be smart to use a better screwdriver instead). You need to make sure you don’t screw it in too far and it’s great for a quick repair but I’m unsure how long it’ll last as the tires wear down. ... show more

  • Hopefully, you won’t need them
I picked up these tire plugs to add to my roadside emergency gear, and so far I’m impressed with the concept and overall setup. The kit comes with 70 plugs in a variety of sizes. The plugs themselves are a rubbery, firm material with a pointed end and a Phillips-head style top, making them look simple to install, just match the size, screw it into the puncture, and it should seal things up. I haven’t had to use one yet (thankfully), but I like having a straightforward option on hand that doesn’t require a lot of tools or complicated steps. I also keep some tire patch glue in my kit and plan to use a little around the plug when I do need it, just to help ensure a good airtight seal. Overall, this seems like a practical addition to an emergency kit. If it performs the way it looks like it should, it’ll be a good solution for quick roadside fixes. I’ll update this review once I’ve had a chance to use it in a real situation. ... show more
