I ordered this for a seven year old who loves Barbie dolls and wanted to make clothing for them. She has been using glue, tape, rubber bands, just about anything to keep her fashions on her dolls. I thought this would be a good kit for her to learn how to create fashions and how to use patterns. A couple of things, the mannequins have a slot that you push fabric in which keeps it in place. She liked it but then would get frustrated when she removed the fabric and her fashion lost it's shape. To solve that issue, rather than using the slot, we put double sided tape on both sides of the slot, then we cut off any extra fabric and used the tape to attach it. Her grandmother is teaching her how to sew so they are working on finishing her designs. She told me she loves the kit and is happy with all the stuff that came with it, like the fabric and sparkly things.

This little box has a lot of trims and decorative items to style with the included fabric. This is a beginner kit with some paper patterns and plastic needles and a few notions. The 4 mannequins are easy to put together (two white, two black) and there's a lot of color and creativity possible. The instructions are difficult to understand and the patterns do not have any details or instructions and are not numbered to match the designs suggested. That being said, this is an intuitive kit where kids will just start putting a design together on their own. It did hold their interest and they spent over an hour in one sitting designing. I think this is a great gift or project drawer item for a rainy day.

I'm really pleased with this nice doll clothes making kit. In particular, the fabrics included are really, really cute with "no hem needed" edges and the dress forms included are actually a close match for some popular fashion dolls. I tried a couple of commercial 11 1/2" doll dresses (both new - one brand name, one dollar store variety) and both dresses fit the dress form just fine so these dress forms could be used to make comparable sized clothing. This kit includes sewing supplies (including metal stick pins but no metal sewing needle that I saw), a large assortment of colorful and blingy trims, plus clips, double-sided tape, stick on velcro and more. Safety scissors are also included but I think a better quality pair of scissors plus a metal sewing needle (for sewing side seams) would be nice additions if used with adult supervision. An ideas booklet (and a few pattern pieces) are also included. Great, creative fun.

I was really hoping this would have more of a guide/tutorial about making dresses for dolls. Putting the two dresses with instructions on the form were fine but there was no explanation of how to then make it something you could get off the dress form with Velcro or ties so you could put it on a doll. I do think it’s a good collection of random fabrics and decorative elements that you could use to help follow tutorials online. It doesn’t come with any sort of glue, and just one of those needle/thread cards you can get from a hotel’s kit. I think the best value in it is the dress forms. They fit the Disney ILY doll clothes perfectly. Barbie clothes will close on it but fit a bit loosely in places and too tightly in others. Rainbow High is shorter and tighter than these forms so they wouldn’t work for RH or LOL OMG dolls.

If your little one likes to play dress up, then she will love this. I got this for my niece, and she absolutely adores this kit. She entertained herself in front of the mirror and all of her new dresses for quite some time. She felt like a princess. It was so cute to watch her imagination come to life. I would highly recommend this for your toddler so she can feel like a princess too.
