  • Excellent addition to my shop
Set name: With Wheels (Standard)
I am happy with the purchase. I have my bench top drill press mounted on it and it's the perfect pairing. The instructions are not the greatest but with a little patients, the correct setup can be attained. I would differently purchase again.

  • Extra bracing.
Set name: With Wheels (Standard)
The item metal my expectations but there is one issue. The stand is rated for 700 pounds. The machine I have on it is 350 pounds. The legs at the bottom where the casters and leveling pads bolt onto need to have extra bracing added to them.

I bought this stand for my mini lathe. The lathe is too long for the table So I replaced the top with larger. It works great and the wheels are awesome. highly recommend for any shop with limited budget

  • Regret purchase
Set name: With Wheels (Standard)
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This product is JUNK! Save your money and purchase a different product. I am beyond disappointed with the transition from fixed feet to wheels. With a mounted saw that is nowhere near the maximum listed weight capacity, the wheels consistently buckle under when trying to move it. This defeats the purpose of spending the money on this item. Based on my experience, anything above two stars may be disingenuous. Learn from my mistake and consider purchasing another product or go with an alternative solution (e.g., using a stationary base or bench in conjunction with a mobile base). ... show more

  • Sturdy, easy to assemble, and well-packaged Sturdy, easy to assemble, and well-packaged
Set name: No Wheels (Stationary)
This stand comes superbly packaged for shipment. It is double-boxed, with the interior box itself made of double-strength cardboard. All of the powder-coated steel structural pieces are individually bagged to avoid scuffing and nested between sheets, strips, and blocks of polystyrene foam fitted to prevent any movement in the box. The melamine-surfaced MDF table top is stacked on top of all the metal parts and protected by styrofoam on both sides. The care put into the packaging design shows that presentation was also a consideration. Two boxes of hardware are included. One contains the four soft plastic adjustable feet molded onto 8mm threaded studs. The other box contains the hardware and tools. The stubby red ratcheting box/open-ended wrench is a nice break from the usual stamped sheet metal wrenches that are usually included in assembly kits, and it is worthy of its own photo. A 5mm hex wrench is also included but was not used because the only hex head screws in the kit needed a 3mm wrench. The metal parts have a durable textured powder coat finish. The legs are made of .080" thick steel with short doublers welded at the bottom ends where the feet attach. The horizontal braces are .050" thick steel which is thin enough to be a little flexible if you try to twist one by hand, but in tension in this application it is perfectly adequate. The melamine-surfaced MDF top does have melamine on both sides to prevent warpage. The MDF edges are unfinished and if there is any chance they might get wet the edges should be sealed with some type of finish or the top may swell. The assembly begins with the table top inverted. The two long rails are attached with four button-head hex screws that tighten into threaded brass inserts embedded in the MDF top. After that the short carriage bolts are used to loosely assemble the legs and short cross members to these rails. The mid-leg cross members are then added to the inside of of the legs. The horizontal pieces are always on the inside of the angles, with the full leg showing on the outside. When the entire stand is loosely assembled you can place in on a flat surface and tighten all the nuts using the included box-end ratchet. The feet are then installed to any height desired and can be adjusted individually to accommodate an uneven floor. Even with the adjustable feet set at full height (even so the stand is not that tall) it is quite rigid. The angled legs help prevent any wobbliness that could occur with vertical legs. NOTE: The last photo showing the assembled stand was taken at wide angle and hides the fact that the legs angle and that in reality the footprint on the floor is considerably larger than the size of the top. The mid-level horizontal rails are begging to have an extra shelf placed on top. It would have been nice if the manufacturer had included one. And the exact amount of hardware needed to build the stand was included, but not a single spare bolt or nut. They must be very confident in their kitting process. Given the quality of the components in this kit and care that was put into the presentation and safe packaging I don't feel that it is terribly overpriced, even though you might find a similar type of stand close enough that is close enough for your needs for less. Personally with floor space at a premium I tend to look and open machine stands as wasting potential storage space that could be located underneath. If you are short on floor space you may want to consider that for 1-1/2 to 2 times the cost of this stand a small rolling workbench with drawer storage underneath and a larger top that might be more appropriate. But in the end this is a very sturdy stand with what I feel is above-average quality and packaging. ... show more

  • Nice rolling shop stand, just needs a few tweaks.
Set name: With Wheels (Upgraded Version)
This is a good heavy duty rolling tool stand. It is ideal for heavier tools that you might use often but just don’t have room for on your workbench. Rather than having to lift it up onto the workbench every time you need it, you can keep it on this rolling tool stand against a wall and roll it to your work area when you are ready to use it. The stand itself is well constructed and is rated for up to 700 lbs, however that seems a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Even though the stand is wider at the bottom than the top, a heavy shop tool would still make the tool stand top heavy, but if exercising caution when rolling heavy tools around the shop and understanding any rolling stand can tip over if the weight on top heavy is heavy enough, you should be ok. I do think that the 700lb rating is a bit of a stretch. Assembly was fairly straight forward and took about 30 minutes to put it together. The red powder coating gives the stand a nice finish and the rubber casters make it easy to roll the stand around but the lock down wheels can be a tripping hazard if not careful. I am using this stand for my drill press, plus I added a shelf at the bottom of the stand to store some of my heavier tools. By adding the shelf it gave me more storage space in the shop and also made the shop stand more stably with the lower center of gravity. Overall I am pleased with the stand but I am not sure it can support 700 lbs on the MDF shelf, which I replaced with a piece of scrap 3/4” plywood when I added the bottom shelf. I deducted 1 star because the locking rubber casters can be a tripping hazard and the fact that the MDF shelf may not be able to support 700 lbs. ... show more
