For a bookshelf that didn't cost an arm and a leg, this one is lightweight but sturdy. It took a little over 90 minutes to assemble, but that's because the diagrams for a couple steps leave a bit to be desired, clarity-wise, so you're kind of on your own. Those "cam locks" or whatever they call them make the assembly so much easier. The finished bookshelves look good, and the 3 shelves hold a lot of books. The only complaint I had was that when the box was delivered, it reeked of some sort of disinfectant or cleaning product or something. I had to unpack it on my front porch and let the pieces air out overnight. By the next day, the bookcase itself smelled fine, but the box, packing styrofoam and the paper assembly booklet still stank to high heaven. I figured that was just a one-off, but be aware that it can happen. ... show more

Excellent value - good quality product for reasonable price. Easy to assembly with pictured instruction. Had problem with shipper (not seller) and Seller followed up to make sure product was correctly delivered. Would certainly buy from them again.

    • Cheap Particleboard Crap for a Premium Price

Particleboard. Don't swallow the rubbish about manufactured wood. Goes together in about an hour per bookcase. On the back "board" mounting holes, use the number 5 screw for 9-10 turns, then remove it. That will make the #4 screws for the cardboard backing go in easier - or at all. Looks okay when together, but keep it away from moisture. Lightly damp cloth to clean it. Oh well, at least it holds books. But if you're buying particle board, there are cheaper options. ... show more

I purchased this unit because of the black glass doors on the bottom, the clean look, and I was looking for something to compliment a TV stand that I had purchased from a different company, and this was the closest I could find. It is very nice looking!!! I took off one star because the back is made of engineer wood/like a heavy cardboard, which, for that price I was surprised to see that. But I guess the price was fair compared to what’s out there. Putting it together was fairly easy. In regards to sturdiness, it did have a little clip at the top to “tie” it down, but I did not use that. I did have an issue, and the seller replied back immediately and took care of my concern ASAP. We needed a bookcase for our bedroom to fit a small opening. This was the right size and relatively easy to assemble with solid connectors and dowels to strengthen the joints. It fit the space perfectly and is solid enough for what we need it for. No wobble to it whatsoever if assembled properly.

This is a very nice-looking unit. It doesn't look at all like the cheap particle board units. The instruction book is very easy to follow and once you learn the concept of construction it goes together quite easily. I'M IMPRESSED!
