i would give it 5 stars but i got half the kit earlier than expected, i messaged the seller sent them some pictures of what i had and they sent me the other parts i didnt have, took like 2 weeks but oh well its here, the kit has everything to set up a mud motor, im making a transom piece so i can put it on my john boat but it runs well and the the throttle locks in places which i like, there is a youtube video on how to put it together.. and it has a kill switch ... show more

I installes this surface drive on a 16ft mirrorcraft aluminum vbottom. Lately been fishing in the river and its a little sketchy with a 40 hp outboard with trees fallen and submerged 4 inches under the water. Watched another boat hit a tree and ruined his outboard so i decided to buy this and not risk it. Imo for the price there really is no risk at all. I put it together broke the motor in and installed it. It pushes my boat about 5 1/2 mph up river and near about 7 down river. No speed demon but also 0 worries of hitting trees and debris. By myself i can get through 10 inches of water really opening up my options for fishing locations. If you have a 10 or 12 ft it would probably move much better. The onboard tank will allow it to run a long time. Ive never actually ran it out as the longest stretch ive kept it going was 1 1/2 hrs ... show more

This outboard runs unbelievably well. I thought about it for a couple days and still purchased it. It turned out to be as good as I thought it would be. The horsepower is also very strong enough. You get what you pay for lol.
