My 5 year-old neohew absolutely loves this bumper car! I appreciate how it allows him to move safely from room to room while having a fantastic time. If he happens to bump into kitchen cabinets or walls, it’s no problem at all—he’s safe, the walls remain unscathed, and the bumper car is built to handle those little collisions without a scratch.To keep him secure, there’s a lap belt, and he controls the movement using two joysticks that let him go forward, backward, turn left, right, and even spin in circles (360°). Sometimes, he enjoys having me take the reins, and I can easily control it with a remote. This is a great feature for younger kids who might not yet grasp steering. This little bumper car is the perfect size and speed for toddlers up to about 4 years old or 66lbs. It goes 1mph which is a good, safe speed for the age group. There is a seatbelt to buckle in for extra safety but bumps aren’t too rough. Just a fun amount of bounce thanks to the bumpers and slow speed. It arrived half charged which was nice because my 2 year old was excited to use it. I plugged it in another 30 to charge it the rest of the way. A full charge takes maybe 3-4 hours and it runs for about an hour. I haven’t timed exactly. It has joystick style controls that are easy for little hands to control and it turns on a dime. There is also a parental remote control to override the controls on the car which I really appreciate when we’re outside and I don’t want him driving out into the street. This car is best used on smooth floors or driveways, not grass or carpet. I use both inside and outside on the driveway and it is lightweight enough to carry easily.
