I was impressed by the high quality of the build. It's heavy and the threading is sharp and aggressive. It grips the wood better and doesn't bounce around like flat bits do. It is best suited to straight-grain, seasoned wood. Stay near the edge of the log and apply steady pressure. This will split the log neatly without too much resistance.

Works Better Than Expected

Good Firewood Drill Bit Wood Splitter
This firewood splitter drill bit kit is exactly the kind of tool you didn't realise you needed until you start using it. I have a stack of leftover limbs from a tree we trimmed last fall, and using this on dry branches is way easier than pulling out the full-size axe.
