    • Mediocre at best
I've gotten very serious with tool foams, or kaizen foams as some would call it. But boy those are so expensive to buy and use. So I ended up looking for alternatives. This kit comes with 6 pieces and was intended to go into the little drawers in my harbor freight 5-drawer service cart. I must say, upon opening up the condensed packaging; these foams did not jump back into their original rectangular shape right away. I know by then that these aren't some high density EVA foams. The best way I can describe these is that these are similar to those cheaper shipping foams. These are way more porous, lightweight, and soft. Therefore, when I try to cut the tool slots into these foams, I find it easy to knife down, but the shapes are hard to form because only a sharp knife can really make the sharp shapes of the tool slots. Further more, these foams do not provide very good support for ratecheting drivers. Pretty much any dense metal tools will sink into the slots more than the foam can hold. I ended up using these foams for lighter tools such as pick tools or screw drivers. Even then, after about 2 weeks, I decided to rip these foam out and not use them anymore because in these two weeks I find heavier tools really sunk into the slots, so much that there's deformation and makes the organization appeal very inconsistent. I got this kit for writing a review, so I do not intend to destroy the seller or the manufacturer's reputation. I'm leaving a 4-star review to indicate my frustration with this light-duty foam's inability to support heavier tools. On screw-drivers and pick tools, those actually stayed in place well without distortion. Whoever comes to consider this foam set; just be advised that these foams aren't the same as the Kaizen foams you'll fall in love with; but for economical alternative to support smaller and lighter tools, these foams may do the trick. ... show more

This is the lighter softer foam not the hard dense foam you get with some tools. It cuts easily and it's suitable for lining cases or padding the bottom of a case. Some of the edges stayed compressed after I opened the package. The foam came vacuum packed and it seems like some of the sheets stayed compressed for some reason.     • Not made for cutouts
This is a very soft foam. Compare it to the spongy foam used for window and door weather seals. I'm sure it would work fine for protecting items sandwiched between two sheets but not so much to cutout form fitting pockets. Yes you can easily cut it to pack around objects to protect them while in a case. But again, it's just not the right density to use as form fitting cutouts. ... show more

    • Not happy at all.
They smell awful. The type of foam is cheap and rips easily even without a layout for the cut-out. They all came in different sizes and thickness but uneven as well. Idk what i was expecting but this wasn't it.
