Features

  • Dimensions and Materials: 6mm blade handle, 16mm cutting length, and 50mm OVL. It is suitable for a variety of materials including carbon steel (HB225), alloy steel (HB225325), pre-hardened steel (up to HRC45), hardened steel (HRC40~45), and cast iron.
  • Vibration-Free Riskless of Damage: The variable tooth spacing design disrupts cutting frequencies, minimizing resonance and reducing errors caused by tool vibrations, ensuring a smoother cutting process without damage.
  • Extended Service Life: Incorporating an AlCrN coating with higher aluminum content compared to conventional AlTBN coatings enhances stability and wear resistance. Additionally, the use of hard alloy material ensures the hardness of the tool body, providing durability and longevity.
  • Wide Applicability: Compatible with CNC milling machines, CNC product centers, and milling machines, making it versatile for various machining tasks.
  • Brand: SHARPRO's business scope spans the entire industry chain, with dedicated centers for design, engineering, research, and development. Each tool is assigned a unique Serial Number for easy tracking, ensuring traceability and quality control throughout the production process.

  • Nice roughing endmill with some pretty respectable build tolerances
The media could not be loaded. Just recently I wore out my bread and butter aluminum cutting endmill an Amana ¼” single flute. It still works but gives me quite a bit of tearout on the leading tip edge. I decided it was time to look at a new endmill and given that I’ve had pretty good luck with other non-premium brands in the past year I decided to give this Sharpro 6mm 2 flute endmill a shot. I almost didn’t because the image in the listing gives the impression it’s not a flat bottom endmill. Spoiler it is, see my images. When this arrived I have to say the packaging was nicer than any other endmill I’ve ever gotten, even my Amana which was 4 x times the cost of this one. As has become a habit of mine recently after opening I immediately put the bit in my micrometer to see how accurate the bit was compared to advertised. This bit was surprisingly close, coming in at 5.997mm shaft and 5.972 on the cutting head (understanding it’s rather difficult to get exactly here because the flutes would need to be exactly perpendicular to the micrometer and this is hard to do by hand). But 0.025mm deviation is much better than average I’ve seen with other bits. I’ve got some that are tenths of mm off advertised, always undersized of course. This leads to holes smaller than designed and perimeters larger. Seeing how close this was I was eager to test it in my “accuracy gauge”. I have a 3 stage pocket cut in aluminum designed to fit a F688ZZ flanged bearing. I’ve very much dialed in my settings for several other bits using this method and it can tell me reasonably quick how undersized a bit is and cut quality. The pockets have 3 different diameters and 3 different depths so this shows me hole diameter accuracy and depth accuracy (how well the end of the mill is cutting in Z). My Fusion file has 0.02mm of extra space in it to allow for diameter differences bearing to bearing. The first thing I noticed is this bit is more of one of my ‘roughing’ bits. It’s an upcut and does gives some tearout (the zoomed picture does make it look worse than it is) so if you want superclean I’d follow this with a finishing pass on a downcut bit. With the tearout I was honestly not hopeful it would pass my tolerance test but to my surprise the bearing fit great first time with no deburring or cleanup. There was zero radial play and the bearing sits very flush with the surface. All in all it worked quite well and I look forward to trying this on some larger adaptive pocket cuts and see how it performs. ... show more

  • Works as expected
I'm not going to go into great detail as others already have. I will say that I used this bit on aluminum to make a pocket for a flanged bearing and the results were good. I believe this bit is made for harder steels, not so much for aluminum so I wasn't expecting it to be prefect. WHile the coating excels at dealing with higher temps the 2 flutes aren't as ideal for aluminum. I think if I could have used a coolant (my CNC is mainly used for wood so I don't have any way to flood the bit). the results would have been even better. The bit is sharp and is spot on dimension wise. I've even used it in my drill press. I simply made an undersized hole with a regular drill bit and then reamed it to size with this bit. ... show more

  • Don't Flush It
Did some test slot cuts in mild steel and aluminum at standard rpms. About .030 in steel, 'bout .053 in aluminum. This end mill performed well - did what it was supposed to. Used in softer materials at proper rpm I think this girl will last a while. I'm knocking 1 star off because in the banner Sharpro states, "Ideal for Alloy Steel." If you're in the mood to flush the 13 bucks you'll spend on this end mill - I think you'll get there pretty quick if you start trying to cut alloy steel with this. Down below they tell you – you can use it for hardened steel HRC 40 – 45. Alloy steels start in that neighborhood and get a lot harder. “Ideal for Alloy Steel?” I think I'll call that deceptive marketting. 4 Stars ... show more

  • EXCELLENT END MILL FOR ALUMINUM
We cut aluminum mostly using a Bridgeport. No CNC. We cut mostly 6061 but sometimes we have to cut through anodized stock. In any case, this little end mill cuts like butter. It’s only a two-flute tool but it’s well balanced and for our application works great. What’s more, it's priced about 50% less than the end mills we’ve been buying from a national distributor. The product listing is accurate. The tool is sharp. The packaging is first class. This is a quality product. Our machinist is happy and so that means it’s worth the money and worthy of five stars. ... show more

  • Good 2 flute end mill
The end mill is ideal for cutting aluminum. The 6mm size allows fairly narrow slots to be cut. The tool is sharp, and being made out of AlCrN coated carbide, it should have a good service life. Having a smaller end mill on hand is always useful in any machine shop.

  • Sharp and cut steel without issue.
I don’t have a CNC, just an old gear driven Enco mill. Got this SHARPRO- 6mm Shank Carbide End Mill to help mill some steel T-bolts. Found the cutter to remove the steel without issue. I was taking about a millimeter cut which is pretty small. As the mill table is manual I get feel for how the cutter is working. I did a total of 4 cuts without coolant. The end mill functioned properly and did not show signs of wear. ... show more

  • Quality and value
Reviewed: SHARPRO- 6mm Shank Carbide End Mill - 2 Flutes, AlCrN Coated, Vibration Isolation - Compatible with CNC & Milling Machines - Ideal for Alloy Steel, Cast Iron, Aluminum, etc. This end mill is made well. The shank came in at 5.995mm. Has laser engraved info on it - something some imports don't have. It also came packaged well, bagged and in a traditional box. Nothing bad to say about this 6mm end mill, looks to be just like the expensive stuff. ... show more

  • Seems to be decent, good but interesting packaging
This seems to be as described, we'll see how it holds up. This endmill did arrive correctly packaged in a plastic tube, which is more than you can say for some import brands. The tube came sealed in a foil Ziploc warning that it is not for anyone under 18. Very funny, I'm guessing the outer package was made from a template for some kind of age restricted product and they never removed the text. ... show more
