48x30 product, after two weeks of installation (no use), cracks have emerged over entire long side. When arriving there was only a small chip on one of the edges（not related to cracks) and nothing when pre-drill or adding screws to base. We noticed some creaking and bending when applying weight on side (estimated no more than 30lb), but no obvious cracks. didn't think much of it, but now this is unusable, since it will probably breakout the moment someone tries to lean on the desk. Nice part! Packed well and a good straight piece of wood. I trimmed the edge with a track saw for a precise fit in a built-in. Then I used butcher block (beeswax and mineral oil) conditioner to give a nice look and protection. Very satisfied.

It's beautiful. Acacia wood. I bought this as a desk top to replace an older, uglier one. It says it's mainly for kitchens but it works great for desktops too. It came packaged well and it was put together with various light/dark pieces. I debated which side to put up and chose the side with more white streaks. The contrast of light/dark is gorgeous. The instructions said to oil it (again, to be used in a kitchen setting) but I put 3 coats of semi-gloss oil based polyurathane on it which brought out the color, sealed it, and made a water proof / scratch resistent seal coat. I recommend oil rather than water based as it gives it a warmer color. ... show more
