We were very disappointed with this product. The image that is supposed to be decorated isn’t the same size that the guide shows making it impossible to actually use the guide. Very frustrating for a child!

This product came with a ton of gems to use, 2 different sizes, and many choices for colors. The outline of the pictures don't line up with the white pattern sheet. If you want to be create and come up with your own pattern then it's not an issue.

The media could not be loaded. I like the way this set works, simple and clean, no fuss or mess. The set comes with 6 "naked" outlines (6 sheets of designs on transparent paper) 6 sheets with preprinted full colored designs as guides for You to follow, and two generous packages of multicolored jewels, one large gems, one small gems. The designs included are: two flamingos embraced, a dolphin, a fish, a sunshine, a butterfly and a flower in a flowerpot. We ended up putting a few of these together freehand, and didn't use the stencils we were provided with, in the end it was really bright and happy and we were more pleased with coming up with our own designs. It felt more personal and fun. The gems stick nicely as long as You don't accidentally pull the glue dots off, which if that happens, I just peeled the glue dot off the gem sheet and stuck it to the design sheet. Sometimes this caused the glue dots to roll and bunch, but for the most part it worked fairly well. The finished pieces are very pretty, they sparkle, they're vibrant and they're fun to look at! My biggest issue was, in the traditional sense, these are not "Sun Catchers" because the gem backs are opaque, the sun cannot actually push through to shine the light into the colored plastic. Instead of the window, we ended up hanging most of them on the wall so when the sun passes through the room, it catches it in sidelights and the whole room gets that gorgeous rainbow glow. I would say the overall vote for these is a four star taking a star off for it not being a "Sun Catcher" as well as many of the glue dots peeling off. But I think it makes it up in enough other fun ways, beautiful when finished, the gems are bright and stunning, and it's a great no mess activity for kids of all ages. My children span ages 6-13 and my youngest four (6-10) all enjoyed working on one of their own. Obviously there are a lot of small pieces, so make sure it's not used unsupervised or for children that might choke on those little pieces... but that aside, I believe this would make a great Birthday gift for either boys or girls, yes some of the patterns may seem "girly" but with just a little imagination my 8 year old son and I did two designs for His room and He LOVED them! I can and do recommend this! ... show more

This is a great rainy day activity. I got these for my 8 & 9 year old. They’re big fans of paint by number, sticker mosaics, etc. My kids got started before I could take before photos (which shows how enthusiastic they are about the activity). Because they started before I could look at the instructions, we found out the hard way there’s a film on the clear plastic pieces. Not 100% sure what the purpose of this film is but beware. The gemstones are sticky and easy to peel and place. Overall, for the $8 this set is on sale for - it’s a fun buy for the little person in your life or if you are looking for an easy way to relax. ... show more
