I bought these to use as a front brake return spring on my older Yamaha DT100 motorcycle. I was able to spin one of them onto the cable. The spring has the perfect tension to return the handle to its home position and keep it there.

Lost the spring of the bypass shears recently pruning Henry's Jungle. The spring had developed a kink in the middle, which made it prone to falling out. Lost it this time. For some weird reason this seller doesn't provide the spring rate. The deal was really good, so I risked it hoping that I would get some stiff springs. According to my calculations, it turned out that the spring rate is approximately 0.0234 mm/g. This is softer than the stock Traxxas Slash 4x4 ultimate springs, which are of approximately 0.0195 mm/g. ... show more

Being these are made from 1.2mm wire, the strength of the spring is moderate, and can be fully compressed with my fingers. That is what I was expecting. If you want to know the inside diameter, just take the outside diameter and subtract 2 x 1.2mm, which is 17.6mm.
