First time experiencing this style wheel for use. Had a 3x5ft steel plate that was old, had heavy milscale, and enough rust that caused pitting. I wanted to take off majority of the rust and milscale and a grinding disc or flappy disk was going to take ages. This wheel, brand new, will burn through all of that with relative ease to fresh bare metal. Unfortunately, with the amount of stuff I was removing it'd clog up and lose its effectiveness. It worked, but not quite as well. Which for me and my project was quite alright. I was able to remove majority of surface contaminates to create a relatively smooth surface that was pleasant to work on. Some down falls, it wore through the disk fairly complete. With the heavy work it was doing, I had to use three wheels to get to where I was happy. It also makes a huge mess. Again, i had ALOT to remove so it was probably due to my work. And it worked beautifully. I honestly couldn't be happier. With a brief experiment on a powder coated part, it removed the power coat extremely quick and easy to prep for welding. Overall I'm beyond pleased with this. How it compares to more name brand disc's and how itd fair in logevity with lighter work is unknown to me. But for a home garage with light work it'll work amazing for you. I'm seriously impressed and wondered how I could have ever worked without this all these years ... show more

When my house was built I used all pressure treated beams, posts, and rails. The painters painted them before they dried. As a result the paint was lifting and flaking. I had a dry spell and decided to try these on my grinder rather than an orbital sander. They worked perfecting for knocking off the loose stuff without gouging the wood. Worked quickly. If you need to sand down to bare wood everywhere you might want to look for something different though. ... show more

These disks will strip most paints and surface rust to shiny metal faster than any other method I have yet used. If you regularly deal with rust damaged car body panels, general welding, and maintenance of metal surfaces, these disks are an essential tool. Wear life of the disks will depend on the thickness of paint removed, the condition, and regularity of the metal. On the upside: This product works better than anything else I’ve use to remove paint on metal surface, quickly and efficiently. Works best on large flat surfaces. On the down side: They break down/wear out rapidly and are costly.

The media could not be loaded. I was gonna go to HD to get paint remover until I found out about these rust remover angle pads. Works very well and does not take off majority's of the metal with the paint and rust like my other grinder pad. It creates minimum sparks which is also a plus. One thing I notice even though the pad is thick it only works efficiently at the surface of the pad. Once you grinder down maybe down to 20-25% it does not remove the rust as efficiently. ... show more
