The brightness of these lights met my expectations but the hardware did not. The lens below the LEDs kept falling out of one of the lights. The light lens just snaps in place but they don't fit very tightly and can be dislodged easily. Also, the light's junction box is made of thin metal and is too small to easily connect 2 romex 14 AWG wires (for daisy-chaining lights) inside the small junction box. After struggling to daisy-chain 2 lights, I decided to just wire all lights to a central large junction box. In addition, one junction box failed. It would not switch to all 3 color modes, only 2. I will contact the seller to request replacement parts and will report my experience here. 12/22/2021 Update: The seller was very responsive to my request for replacement parts. However, the parts were not available so they issued me a generous refund so I can purchase more lights. This action exceeded my expectations. I will do business again with this seller. appear to work as ordered. good price and timely delivery. some of the nicer details for assembly could be better.... no gasket to seal mating surface. wire nuts instead of push-on connectors.

9 out of the 12 junction boxes arrived with temp regulator switch broken. Didn't bother to install any so I cannot comment on brightness.

I was looking for lights for a kitchen reno and so far have bought these as well as some made by Sylvania, which are of superior quality, which thus far are the only basis for comparison that I have to these. I bought these because I liked the lamp head design that has the baffle trim look but can be installed without a can and is fairly low-profile. All you need is a 5-inch hole and power thanks to the two-piece design. These really look like true recessed lights, whereas the Sylvania ones have a flatter look (which is still very nice, just a different look.) These lights are sufficiently bright, and I'd say each one produces about 100W incandescent equivalent. The 12W and 1200 lumens stated in the specs appear accurate. The Sylvania lights ae slightly brighter at 14W and 1400 lumens. The major difference I noted were in quality; the lamp heads themselves feel very solid but I noticed that the diffusers keep falling out of them, as there appears to be nothing holding them in place, other than a very narrow groove. Many had fallen out and when I put them back in they feel very loose, so I'm a bit worried they'll just start falling out after I install them. Also, the junction boxes are extremely flimsy. Sure, they'll work, but the metal is so thin and bends so easily that just trying to get the wire clips inserted and/or pulling the wire through is very difficult. The Sylvania boxes are very solid and do not have this problem. Comparing the quality of the light itself to the Sylvania lights, brightness just slightly less. Color tone on these lights seems way off and not as pure. These have 3 CCTs and the Sylvania's have 5. If I put these lights on 3000K, they appear closer to 4000K. Since that's the lowest (warmest) setting, that's what you're stuck with. You can go cooler, and those match up better. I wanted to use 3000K and at that setting, the Sylvania lights produce a much better quality of light. I've also compared these lights against many others and find their color tone is off a lot more than I'd like. Both lights claim CRI >90, but light doesn't look as nice from these. On the plus side though, these lights have NO flicker or strobe effect at all, whereas the Sylvania lights, while having no perceived flicker, do produce the camera strobe effect when I tried to take a picture of the two lights side-by-side. Between the two, I like the look of these better, but prefer the quality, color tone, and overall build quality of the Sylvania lights over these. One other note is that these require about 2 inches of clearance whereas the Sylvania lights only need 1/2 inch, allowing them to even be installed where there is a stud running through the installation location, allowing more flexibility. I'm fairly sure I will end up using the Sylvania lights over these. I'm not overly impressed with the quality of these and question how they'll hold up. I also don't think the quality of light produced will be as nice. I still give these 3 stars, because they do work and are less expensive. ... show more

*Note, this is a review for the 4-pack of these lights, which apparently has been replaced with a 12-pack. Still, same lights, just more of them now* I used these LEDs in my basement home office that I just finished building. Only needed 4 of them because its a 10x8 space, and they are more than enough to light it up perfectly. In fact, since they're dimmable, I'm using a WiFi smart dimmer (connected to Google Home) and I never go much over 50% brightness. It isn't that they get way too bright, but its definitely more than I need. Plus the paint in the room is a fairly light grey, so that helps. The fact you can easily toggle them between 3k/4k/5k is a really big benefit in my book. Depending on other lighting in the room that you may wish to match (or contrast), along with where you're using these (ex., 5k in a kitchen/bathroom, versus 4k for a living room), you're able to make the right selection. They're silent - no buzzing or anything - and they don't get too hot. I'm not concerned about them being an issue up in the ceiling at all. As for installation, they have very simple clips that just shoot up over the drywall and presto, you're done. Holds them perfectly flush to the ceiling - assuming you've cut the right size hole. These are, if I remember correctly, a 4" hole, meaning the top of the light only needs 4" to go up into the ceiling, and you've got 6" holding flush to the underside (the actual light that you see). I cut 4" round holes and they are in there absolutely perfectly. The electrical boxes are very compact and have enough space to squeeze your wiring into. Nothing special about the wiring; simple 3-wire connection. All in all, I'm super impressed and happy with these lights. Wish I had them in every room in the house. If I do start adding more, I'd get these. ... show more

You pick these up to replace a dead can light in our office and unfortunately it turned out to be the wrong kind. They look identical from the outside but they do have different connecting plugs. These do look really nice but I wasn't able to test the actual light since we couldn't connect it. So these do seem to be the newer of variety ours are a few years old so we needed to get the slightly older kind. I do like that this newer variety has easier spring loaded clips on the side for removability when you need to swap them out. Ours were a little tricky so this is definitely an upgrade in that respect. ... show more
