Easy to assemble. A bit tricky to keep them in place but i have huge feet and live in a rock garden, soooooo... They did what i intended them to do. I simply walked around my yard whilst mowing to prep for overseeding. With the volume of rocks some of the spikes partially tore through the platform, the heel strap on both sides loosened a few times and they clogged with clay quite frequently. For the money this was by far the best plan of attack to aerate my little yard and now i have good grass growing everywhere :) ... show more

Spikes cannot be properly secured into plastic shoe base, coming loose after taking a few steps. Straps and buckles do not keep the base secured to your shoe. I do not recommend.

I waited before writing this review to have used these in different ways. I first used these on a wet yard. They brought up my yard. I now have a mud hole to fix. When I seen what was happening I stopped. I decided to use these on dry yard. It works better but be warned pull straight up when pulling these out of your yard or you will have pulled up grass. I'm only rating these a 3 across the board cause they wouldn't stay on after about 4 steps. My suggestion is find something else to airrate your yard. ... show more

These aerator spike shoes work super because the spikes are longer than the other expensive shoes they are asking 30 to 40 bucks for. Don't try to double strap the shoe straps like shown on the instruction picture. Just single strap them by running the straps underneat the green plastic base. I ran the staps around a pair of New Balance running shoes. Then after you put your shoes on, use duck tape to wrap around your shoes running the nails right through the tape so the tape is flush with the bottom of the green base. Use long enough strips to be able to cover the tops of your shoes. Use as many straps of duck tape to set up a firm comfortable fit. The shoes won't come off this way and you'll be able to fly through the yard. The aeroation will help soften your soil and place holes in the lawn to allow the fertilizers to work more effectively and any bug granular products as well! When you get through doing the front and back yards, then just cut the duck tape off but leave the black straps on for the next use! Check out my lawn. I was not happy with this because some of the spikes were missing! i searched this product out for the best quality and price, and was let down by missing pieces. There was no email address or phone number to contact to receive missing parts. Also there were no assembly instructions. I had to go to Youtube to find out how to assemble! ... show more

Great product, very easy to use, also a great work out! In addition, the spikes are longer than others you can buy on Amazon.com. It will drill deeper holes for fescue lawns, which has up to 4-inch long roots. Definitely a worthy purchase if you'll be working outside this Spring!
