OK, let's face it -- these are not "fine writing instruments." But then, for the price, you can't expect them to be. These are fairly inexpensive pens that remind me (in terms of construction quality) of the free giveaways at trade shows. That said, they do write decently well (arguably more a function of the ink cartridge than the pen) and the clicker mechanism works - although I can't say how many clicks its lifespan will be. If the shell of the pen happens to last longer than the ink, you can always buy replacement ink cartridges. My one real dissatisfaction has to do with the placement of the printed messages. These pens have a hexagonal barrel, and it seems to me that the messages are supposed to be printed in the CENTER of one of the six sides. In my package of 5 pens, 2 are in the center, and 3 have the printing "bleeding" over a vertex and onto a second edge. The line of printing is also crooked on one or two of them. It's not a HUGE deal, but if you're a "Type A" personality, this will bother you. They just don't seem to take much care in the printing of the pens, to make sure that the messages are centered or straight. Even the photo on the product page shows this issue, to some extent, so it's not a 1-time thing. I wish they had better (or any) quality control. The affirmation messages themselves are reasonable, and this makes a cute, inexpensive gift for the right person.

I knew these would be hilarious, but I'm really picky when it comes to pens, so I wasn't sure how it would work out. These are great. they write smoothly. I haven't experienced any skips of ink or blobs yet. The ink also does not transfer to my hands or other surfaces. I came for the novelty, I stared because of the quality.

Whelp. I took mine to work on Friday. Had Saturday off. Came back on Sunday and my three faves had mysteriously disappeared. Nobody has any idea where they went. Weird. Very mysterious. Apparently, they also have invisible feet and they're too much fun to stay put. On a practical note, they write well and they're very comfortable in my hands. Well, they were, anyhow.

It's obvious that anyone ordering these pens is doing so for what's printed on the barrel, and not because they expect a high-end writing instrument. While the pens themselves are nothing special, there's also nothing wrong with them. They write just fine, all in black ink. Nothing wrong with them, nothing exceptional about them, they are basic plastic pens. However, the sayings that are printed on them are golden. If you happen to be someone that loves to curse, these will make you giggle each time you pick them up. And if you don't love to curse, you probably know someone who does, so these would be a great giftable item for those people in your life. And since it comes as a set of 5, you could technically break it up into 5 separate gifts. The barrel of the pen is hexagonal, so I suspect that these could get uncomfortable if you were doing a lot of writing with them. They are just fine for jotting something down, though. No complaints here. Quality-wise, I got exactly what I expected, and I look forward to bringing smiles to people's faces with something as simple as a writing instrument.

Fun pens to use yourself or give as gifts. These are reasonably well made, write without smearing, and come with bright color barrels. (The ink is all one color – black.) They are comfortable to hold and to use, but let’s face it, if these pens had no ink in them, I’d still love them. They are just so fun and irreverent and a great conversation starter!
