Once installed the wheel wasn’t stable. After opening gate a little bit the bearings fell out. We ended up throwing it away because it was not usable. *** The above is my original posting. We have a small gas station/convenience store with parking in a fenced lot for people going to Mexico but who do not want to take their vehicle there. Our gates are heavy steel and over time have sagged from the weight and drag on the pavement. When somebody has to open the gate, they have to drag it back. I put this gate wheel on and boy did it make a difference. My employees don't seem to mind gate duty now. The wheel operates like it should and was easy to install.

This thing is hot garbage. Yes, the wheel is nice and the construction feels very heavy duty and solid BUT there is a design flaw in this thing that's pretty severe. The piston that the is attached to is much smaller than the hole in the bracket it sits in and so this wheel rocks back and forth as you operate it and gets bound up as it pivots.

The TOROTEK gate wheel feels heavy-duty and the craftsmanship initially seemed good. The wheel rotates smoothly, the rubber is thick, and the design looks solid. It’s a very heavy wheel — likely heavier than my wooden chicken pasture gate — and it only came with U-shaped hardware for a pipe gate, so I couldn’t install it without purchasing additional fasteners. I also noticed some chipped paint on the mounting plate, which would likely start to rust quickly. The included gloves were a nice touch, but they’re child-sized and not really useful. For heavy-duty gate hardware, it seems like a good value for the quality and materials — just be sure it’s compatible with your gate.
