These might be better if they ran together on a single or double cord powered by solar, or plug in. Each letter has 2 of those round little circle batteries that are usually on short lived temporary lights. The kind you pull the plastic tab out on. The assembly is odd, too. Each letter comes in 2 pieces. You have to push thin white metal rods up into the corrugated plastic holes without breaking the thin metal fairy light cable that seems to be in the way. And you have to somehow line both halves up even and pull the two parts of surf board together. Lastly, you put the legs on so you can poke them into the ground. All this was harder than it sounds. For me anyway. We got them together working harder and longer than we had expected. The color is bright and the lettering good. They are rather small surfboards. I duct taped the back side because the split between the two halves needed some pulling together and the boards could use the stability of the tape, as well. I think these would be good for a party. The lights might only last one evening, the battery is very small. We wanted to use these for Christmas decor with our Aloha shirt Santa and dolphin sleigh, but we can't count on how long they will stay lit. We may not even turn them on. It will look nice during the day at least. I think overall the idea was good, but the concept needs some work. One piece surfboard with solar or USB lighting would be better.

They look fine once they are together but lining them up is a pain!! There should be some type of marker on each side. The other issue is that they didn't come with instructions so I had to pull up my order to see if I was missing something. Once together, it looks nice but it took way longer than I would have expected.
