  • Great fabric and quality
Size: 38 Regular Color: Tundra
These shorts fit well and are comfortable. They are my favorite shorts to wear biking or just around. The fabric is easy to care for with little to no staining. The make is good quality, they are easily my favorite brand of shorts.

  • Great Shorts
Size: 40 Regular Color: Khaki
My only complaint about these shorts is too many pockets. Don't get me wrong, I use them all, but there are a lot of them. They are well set up. The pockets have purposes. They are well designed and they are great. Just a lot. If that is my only complaint though, they are great. They fit well. They flex a bit for fit. They are very comfortable and they hold up well. I am hard on shorts and I wear them most days. These show no wear and tear. They look the same as when I bought them. I will buy these again. ... show more

  • Not as described
Size: 36 Regular Color: Tundra
Seem like well made shorts, but I took off one star. The description says they come with YKK zippers. They don’t.

  • Best work shorts ever
Size: 32 Regular Color: Black
Love the front pockets, they seem to be a little larger than the pants front pockets, was kind of hoping for the spandex on these, however they are still comfortable and fit the same before the spandex stretches on the pants. love the durability and am happier than I thought with the length. Everything this company makes is TOP QUALITY! This comment might sound like I work for this company, but I don't and have never owned a pair of pants that lasted about 3 years so far and are worn twice a week without any hole or stitch coming undone! my line of work is service and involves attics and below house repair. I hope the shorts are the same quality! 5 Stars, Love them! ... show more

  • These are my new favorite shorts.
Size: 30 Regular Color: Black
Honestly 5.11 really doesn't need to charge the price they do for a pair of shorts, even if it is made of super-modern military-grade nylon. But they work. So far I've owned these for almost a year and they seem to hold up. Maybe I'm just being careful with them because a lot of other people have reported their shorts/pants ripping at the crotch on them, but mine seem to hold up. So at least we know the washer ain't destroying them. - They're a lot lighter than ordinary cargo shorts, and they feel really comfortable too. - While they don't have the elastic waistband that the Stryke Pants do, that's nothing a good old velcro belt won't fix. - There's no other difference in the shorts versus the pants EXCEPT that the front pockets feel a lot bigger. I can get four fingers into the front pockets of these shorts, and only three fingers into the stryke pants. The fabric feels somehow stretchier on the shorts. - The magazine pockets don't come apart at all; they're just long pockets half the length of the main pocket side by side. So try not to put anything small in there that you wouldn't be able to reach, like your keys. Honestly I can fit my whole EDC into these pants. With so much gear you don't want to go running in them, but everything is tight enough on the body that you can if you want. In fact I use these in the gym, because I just feel naked without my EDC. ... show more

  • Comfortable and sturdy
Size: 38 Regular Color: Storm
I liked the way it fit and stretches when you move. I would have liked them to be a little longer as im 6'.5" and like my shorts to cover my knees, these are about 3" above them.

  • Good shorts, but some important differences from the pants.
Size: 32 Regular Color: Khaki
These are very good tactical / cargo shorts in their own right, but they are not simply the fabulous 5.11 Stryke Pants minus the lower leg material. I own a number of 5.11 Stryke Pants and consider them to be just about the perfect EDC pants. I had been keeping an eye out for a shorts version and was excited when 5.11 finally announced them. The shorts are very good, but I didn't realize some of the construction changes, so want to highlight them for other buyers who are in my boat. Differences between the Stryke Pants and Shorts: The shorts do NOT have the same elegant self adjusting / tightening waistband mechanism that the pants do. The shorts feature a standard fixed waistband with essentially no self-cinching or elastic. This is my biggest disappointment with the shorts as I loved this design and feature on the pants. It was compounded by the fact that my shorts fit more loosely than expected despite being listed as the same waist size that all my other pants (including other numerous other 5.11 pants and shorts), which fit perfectly. The front-most pockets are a little wider on the shorts and feature an angled opening as opposed to the horizontal one on the pants. This makes getting things in and out a little easier on the shorts. Functionally these are an improvement, though aesthetically I like the horizontal pockets better. The belt loops on the shorts have lost the badge holder extra loop material on the front-most two and are narrower. They are all simply standard belt loops now. I would have preferred the belt loops from the pants be retained. The flaps on the back and cargo pockets are shaped differently. Instead of being an even, straight bottom to the flap, they have an off-centered point and resultant angle to them. This change was neither a positive nor negative for me, but it is visually different. ... show more
