For a $70 pair of jeans these look nice, are comfortable to fight in, and at first impression appear to be durable. Full disclosure the true durability is yet to be seen from my perspective. I have ran, fought, carried a gun and climbed in them a considerable amount and they are comfortable for that. They aren't as constricting mobility wise when you have someone in your guard compared to traditional jeans. Triangles, kimoras etc are very easy to do in them. Carrying a gun, mag, knife, and flashlight are all very easy and the design helps a lot for those with that in mind. I love the side pocket. I hate that constricting feeling when you pull someone into your guard and your phone is in your pocket and the side pocket allows for you to strangle a man with your legs and not restrict your mobility-if that's important to you these are great. They also look like a nice pair of jeans. I wouldn't mind having an option to pay a little more for a more high end designer look for these either though so 5.11 if you're listening I think you are missing an opportunity there but they are nice looking. All in all they are everything I expected them to be and they do it well so for that I give it 5 stars. If you want nice jeans you can fight in for <$100 these are sure tough to beat. ... show more

    • Tough pair of jeans!
Very well constructed and designed - the mag pockets are great for a phone! The only reason for four stars is because the color was a little darker than the pictures, but not a deal breaker. A great pair of jeans that have just the right amount of stretch. I would definitely buy these again.

    • Quality - Better Alternative to Vertx Defiance Tac Jeans

The 5.11 tac jeans are more of a traditional ‘relaxed’ fit. Consequently, IMO they look less ‘operator,’ and more ‘soccer dad,’ which is what I’m going for. They are seemingly stiffer and thicker denim than Vertx, and while they don’t have wallet-traps, hidden cuff-key pockets, or mesh pocketing like Vertx, they also don’t suffer from the grommet-rip in the rear seat area (which occurred a month after reviewing the Vertx Jeans). The color bleeds on the first wash. Second was good to go. 10 washes later and color is staying fast with no fading. Rear top slash pockets fit STANAG mags, AK com-bloc AND PMags, and also an iPhone 11. Not skinny leg: wide at the bottom like Wrangler relaxed fit. If you ankle carry correctly you won’t have a problem. Ankle med kit is also a go in these Jeans. Again, the Vertx fit more like tailored Jeans, but are less durable. The 5.11’s are more like what you’d expect from a pair of daily use jeans. I’d buy them again. ... show more

Just another Limey fishing on Amazon US coz the UK one sucks by comparison... These Jeans cost anything between £60 / £79 on Amazon UK Picked them up on the US site for £29.00 and after shipping & import fees I've still saved over 20 quid... Package arrived in excellent condition a few days ahead of schedule (thank you US postal) First off, they appear lighter than my 501's and yes the material possesses a bit of flex to it. I'm left with an impression they'd be a good option during any unpredictable UK or New England summer I'm 6'04" and built like an Anglo Saxon/Celt should be and at 38" × 34" the fit was perfect out of the box. I've experienced no ride up on the crotch as reported by a few others and combined with the 5.11 underwear they are very comfy. The rear mag pockets are an Interesting addition and I'll find a use for them other than atmageddon prep. The coin pocket is actually deep which means it has a proper use for coins. As for durability, the material is thinner and lighter than any true US denim so I'll wait and see and hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised If your in the market for a warm weather pair of jeans, then pull the trigger on these...     • Tactical stretchy jeans that will change your life!

Okay so as a cop of over 30+ years, I have worn all sorts of tactical pants but never a blue jean sort of tactical pant. I carry my off-duty handgun (Sig P365) in an appendix holster and thought that the extra stretch would add to the comfort level. Oh man do they ever. These 5.11 Defender Flex jeans are honestly the most comfortable jeans I have ever worn. Straight out of the Amazon packaging and on to my slightly pudgy body, they are the softest, most light weight jeans ever! They have the extra deep AR-15 magazine pockets that are perfect for slipping my large Pixel 4XL phone into. I literally wore the first pair to dinner and while still at the restaurant went onto the Amazon app and ordered a second pair! I can't speak to how they will wear over the long term but they appear to be very well made. I have vast experience with 5.11 clothing and boots and have always been impressed with the quality.
