I wish the lights had more film over to block the sharpness of the LED on the eyes. The pictures in the description are exaggerated on color. I knew this but was expecting a little more yellow tone available to more closely resemble other ‘warm white’/ candle tones like I have with my Phillips bulbs. Overall it’s a good product and I would purchase again, though I would also buy more yellow/warm tone if the option were available. ... show more

Love the fact that you can adjust the color temp. So, you can buy one set of lights and use in multiple location that require different lighting. In addition they are flush to the surface unless you want them pointed and angle them. And even at a slight angle they still appear to be flush.

The electrical boxes they have for these are TINY! Given that they are going to be on 15-20 AMP circuits, I don't see how they expect people to put long-enough 14 gauge wires in these boxes to match code. You are supposed to have 6" of wire in the electrical box, you are supposed to have a certain amount of Cubic inches in the electrical box given certain wires, these boxes are TINY! You also better wear gloves as it is very difficult to access and work in these boxes and the boxes are very sharp as the metal is a thin gauge aluminum. The lights themselves seem fine, but I don't understand why they didn't just make the boxes larger. I do not recommend buying these, I'm sure another manufacturer creates gimbal lights that have larger boxes to run wires into. The recessed lights I purchased had boxes at least 2x the size of this and even those were pretty small. ... show more

Before I bash this product, let me say that they have one of the better gimbal designs I have seen. I have installed at least 300 of these types of lights in the last few years, and it is hard to find a gimbal that will accommodate 12 pitch ceilings (45 degrees), while also being ‘closed’ (so you are not looking at ceiling insulation through the fixture). That’s where my affection ends…. The driver/junction box renders this product a complete failure in my opinion. First, the box is roughly the same gauge as chewing gum foil (ok, maybe i am being hyperbolic, but it is absurdly thin). I destroyed the first one trying to remove the knockout (which was not punched very well either). I got more surgical on the next one and managed to get the knockout out with only moderate sheetmetal damage. Note that i was using old-school metal cable clamps (a trick i learned on these types of lights)… plastic push-in strain relief bushings never would have worked as the box would collapse under the insertion force of the install…. And then again on pushing the wire through Second, the box is not welded or riveted in the corners… which maybe you could get away with of not so thin. I fought the problem of corners opening when working on the knockouts and also when trying to close the cover on the wired box. Third, the box is too small. If you are only connecting one 14/2 romex, you might be ok. Most people wire lights in series, as I did. Trying to fit 2 pieces of 14/2 romex and connectors was almost impossible… it bulged out the flimsy box walls and made latching the cover closed very difficult and unreliable. I do not have a lot of faith they will not pop open and will need to resort to a secondary method of keeping them closed. If you are using 12 gauge wiring in series, just forget about fitting them in these boxes. Finally, the wire is much lighter and flexible than typical. Despite it being ‘tinned’ (soldered), you will not get these in a Wago or other type of push connector (maybe not a problem for everyone, but I am a big fan of the efficiency of Wagos). In conclusion, I really wanted to love these, but installing them has been one of the most maddening things I’ve encountered in regards to these kind of lights. Look elsewhere! ... show more
