I haven't had a dedicated video camera in years, because my phone is on me all the time. I did not realize how handy this would be though. I plan to use it for recording kid events (band concerts, plays, games, etc.) so I don't have to hold my phone up in the air the whole time. And my kids have been having fun just running around and recording every day events, and just photos too because it has a picture option. It has night vision as well, which is a fun feature. It took a little bit to figure it out, but read through the instruction book once and you'll get the hang of it. Comes with 2 batteries and an SD card. The mic is nice as well for capturing some better sound quality. The only thing that I wish it had was manual zoom, it's only digital but in most cases that is fine. ... show more

I am very unsatisfied with this camera. Though it comes with a lot of accessories the overall function of the camera is very poor. I film content for two YouTube channels and have done most of it with a Motorola Edge cell phone. I wanted to get a second camera to help with close-up shots of demonstrations. The instructions give an overview of functions but no real insight into how to use them. Especially for formatting the included memory card. The one thing I disliked the most is that the video quality was very poor. It did not capture action very well despite having settings for Sports or Action. I had it set on 4K format with Sports mode and still it showed action very blurred and irregular rather than smooth and active. At one point I attempted to film content but the camera automatically stopped recording after only a few seconds. The battery life is very short, almost non-existent even after charging for over an hour. I paid $129 during Prime Days and unfortunately can no longer return it. I did not try the still camera function but I didn't buy it for that use. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: The instructions are better than some products. You really just have to play around with the menu to get it figured out. The lens hood and stabilizer arm are very nice additions. As far as I could tell the instructions didn’t tell you how to attach the hood, but it doesn’t take long to figure it out. I’m not big on reading instruction manuals unless absolutely necessary. I mainly got this for the nightvision ability. Once you figure out how to turn nightvision on and off you’re good to go. The little attached boom mic is a really nice addition as well as coming with 2 batteries and an SD card. Great value. ... show more

Seems much worse than my cell phone camera. It has a lot of boxes checked, but the video quality is pretty crappy. Maybe I can try a few more things, but so far, this looks headed for a return. I'm no expert, but: grainy, jumpy with the slightest brightness change, zoom is jumpy and grainy, etc. I'm just not sure how they count those 64 MPs? I think its headed for a return. I dont know, just seems really crappy so far. Maybe I'll buy a more expensive product to try next. ... show more

4K was shoppy. I bought a faster card and saw an improvement, albeit slight. I got to use it in HD mode, which works perfectly. With the extra microphone sound in 5.1, the experience was excellent. For a camcorder of this price, I am ok.

Camera is much smaller and lighter than it looks in Amazon’s pictures. That is a plus for on the go but I intend to use a tripod. Microphone actually has decent charging instructions but there are obvious mislabeled operating buttons in the microphone illustration. The camera seems to have a lot of bang for the buck in a small package for YouTube or Instagram videos with added abilities to do slow motion and time lapse. However, zoom makes for degraded video quality. This may be due to the low speed SD card included. Microphone is OK but not great. Instructions for setup could be much better than the ones included. ... show more

Nice camera, so far. Everything seems to be working as described. This camera doesn't feel cheap, but not totally solid either. The provided memory card is 32GB but the insert says camera can use anywhere between 4-256GB memory. I have a 128GB card in the camera and was able to format and use pretty easily. Again, everything seems to be as described. If this camera lasts without issues this camera is definitely worth the price. ... show more

I am pleased with this camera. For the price it has decent quality and functionality. I wish the USB connection allowed the camera to be used simultaneously, but when USB is detected it switches to offline mode. I am able to work around this by using a USB hub with enable/disable switches on the ports. Hard to beat this for the price . I hope it lasts a while. ... show more
