I just have to say, this kids’ smartwatch has been amazing. The setup was super easy, and once we popped in the SIM card, everything worked right away. The video calling is way clearer than I expected, and my child loves being able to call or send me quick voice messages. The GPS tracker is a little bit slow but I still can use it to check the location. I also really appreciate the class mode because it keeps the watch from being a distraction during school. The video quality is surprisingly clear, and both video calling and voice chat work smoothly with no lag. The GPS tracking is accurate, which gives me so much peace of mind when she’s at school or playing outside. Watch arrived fully charged and included a SIM card ready for activation. The setup app walked me through video calling permissions and GPS pairing without any fuss. It includes 30 minutes of free voice calling with your kid and then plans start from $5, which is transparent and conveinent. I could also swap in a different SIM if I wanted to use our existing plan. Video calling is impressively clear for a kid's device and the voice chat picks up commands well. The GPS tracker locked onto a location fast enough to calm my nerves when my child walked to the neighbor's house. The touchscreen responds quickly and the parental controls in the app give me confidence about contacts and screen time. The one real flaw I noticed right away is that the silicone band feels a bit stiff on small wrists so it needs a few wears to settle in, but it is another band included. Wow! The camera is fine for quick check-ins and the mic catches speech clearly even when my child is playing outside.

This watch has a lot of functionality for the price, and on the surface it looks like a great option for an 8 year old. The quality of the watch itself is decent, about a 3.5 out of 5, and the black color looks nice and modern. The screen is clear, the band feels comfortable, and it seems durable enough for everyday kid use. There are tons of features, including GPS tracking, video calling, voice chat, alarms, and basic games. The tracking function works well, which is the main reason I wanted a watch in this category. The feature set is definitely one of the strongest parts of this device. The main drawback is the setup process. You cannot add contacts directly from the watch. You have to download a companion app on your phone and manage everything from there. The app itself is a little confusing since it comes from a Chinese company and there are several versions with similar names, so finding the right one takes some trial and error. Once installed, navigating it takes patience. You also need a subscription plan for texting and data. The cheapest option is around eleven dollars a month, which is something to keep in mind if you were hoping for a simple one time purchase. As far as usability, it is more adult friendly than kid friendly. An 8 year old may have a harder time figuring out all the menus and buttons. The interface takes some getting used to, and younger kids might feel overwhelmed at first. Battery life is average. It lasts through a normal day but will need regular charging, especially if GPS or calling features are used heavily. Overall, the watch has a lot of features and solid functionality, and once everything is set up, it does what it promises. The setup, app confusion, and learning curve bring it down, but the feature set brings it back up. A good find, just expect to spend some time getting it configured.

This watch was extremely difficult to get set up and synced with a parent app. The qr code in the instruction manual is not the correct app. Neither is the app from the qr code on the watch. 3 apps later and I finally had the correct app after Googling issues with this watch. Then, the instructions also don't tell you that you have to manually text all these crazy codes to the watch to set up the cell service either. My daughter gets random spam calls and texts constantly, even with the "reject random numbers" feature on. She can only text people back that have the app installed, but installing the app gives that person access to change all of her parental controls and settings. The SOS button feature is way too easy to set off. My husband and I get about 10 SOS notifications from her every day, making it where now if she ever has a real emergency how will we know? Came with 2 watch bands, one didn't even fit. Camera quality is pretty bad. Gps accuracy is off by a quarter mile, battery life lasts the whole school day. Pretty frustrating and disappointing.
