P.E.T. screen protectors used to be so bad and hard to install back in the day that tempered glass protectors became the go-to option. However, cheap tempered glass, limited options for new devices (like the Pixel 8), and the challenge posed by curved and edge-to-edge displays have made glass protectors less reliable. When it came to the Pixel 8, I couldn't find a protector that didn't peel at the edges with a case on, and let's face it, everyone uses a case. I was skeptical about reverting to a non-glass protector. In the past, I had issues with them being too 'gummy.' You could press your thumbnail into it and leave a dent, which would then 'self-heal.' This protector, however, doesn't have that tacky feel. It almost feels like glass, even though it isn't. It comes with quality add-ons that make installation easy. The cleaning wipes are larger and of better quality than those that come with most glass protectors. It even includes a pad to prevent your phone from sliding around during the installation process. I was initially unsure about the alignment feature, but it turned out to be a game-changer and very easy to use. Aligning the protector before sticking it to your screen works remarkably well. You simply place the holes of the protector on the alignment feature and then start applying it from the bottom up, resulting in a smooth application. Although I initially botched my first two attempts due to a piece of hair underneath it the first time and a small bubble on the right side the second time, I found that even these imperfect installations were acceptable. Unlike glass protectors, where an entire corner might not stick down properly, this one adhered well overall. Additionally, camera cutouts on tempered glass protectors always look unappealing, with rainbow effects around the camera and a tendency to collect dirt and dust. While I personally prefer protectors without cutouts, this one manages the cutout neatly. Moreover, because the film is not as thick as glass, it doesn't accumulate as much dirt or dust. First of all, once I was finally able to install this screen protector, on the second try after wasting one of the 4 avaliable, it feels really good, my fingers glide easily on it, and I can't be sure, but it might have some oleophobic coating as well. It doesn't interfere with the fingerprint reader and works well with two different phone cases I have. Now, for the bad part, the installation: I wasted one of the included protectors, with lots of cursing, trying to use the included alignment frame, but it proved almost impossible to use while also keeping dust particles out. You have to position the alignment tool on the phone, clean it, peel off the backing from the screen protector and *then* place it on the alignment tool, where it will instantly stick to the phone. In my experience, trying to do this carefully always ended up being too slow, allowing dust to settle on the phone or (worse) on the sticky side of the protector. If you do it too quickly, it might actually not align correctly. I guess if you have a clean(er) room or use some other method to get rid of the dust it might be fine (e.g. some people use steam). I did better using the traditional tape hinge method, i.e. manually aligning the screen protector (with backing film still on) then using masking tape on one side to create "hinges". Once that's done, wipe everything clean, then quickly remove backing and close the "hinges" to apply. This way I was able to have an almost perfect application, no bubbles or dust. ... show more

Many screen protectors for the Pixel 8 fail to consider the slightly curved edges of the display, leading to a halo effect around the display that's very noticeable in bright light and white backgrounds on the phone. This protector accounts for that and it's made of a more flexible material than Tempered Glass (A compromise that MUST be made for screens with ANY curvature) it comes with literally everything you need + extras (wipes, dust stickers, non slip pad and alignment tool), it also comes with an instruction manual that's clear and ACTUALLY shows how to enable screen protector mode within the Pixel settings (not a random android phone), meaning they actually cared. Installation was super easy, just follow steps and you'll be set. (Pro Tip: Use a flashlight to look for hard to see dust particles and fingerprints on the screen), no sensitivity or fingerprint issues. Don't look anywhere else, this is the best you can get for dirt cheap (and get 3 extras!). ... show more
