  • A must have.
This is a repeat purchase for me, since I have kept my other one in my car for years--until we needed to shutoff emergency water valve last week. Now I have one in the garage too. Not too heavy, but feels sturdy. Had no problem turning difficult water valve with it after other tooks on hand couldn't budge it. Has the gas fitting, crowbar, and will certainly break auto glass in emergency. This more expensive one is bumpy, maybe cast aluminum. Saw cheaper one and skipped because it didn't look as solid. ... show more

  • Seems better than other yellow wrench
I had a yellow colored wrench years ago that seemed to be made from pot metal. It broke the first time trying to turn a sticking water valve. I understand these cannot be really strong or someone might break a Utilities gas or water valve. This does seem to be a little better, possibly an Aluminum alloy. ... show more

  • Everyone Needs This!
Superior emergency tool to keep in your house, garage, work, or your vehicle. It is light, strong, appears immune from rust, and inexpensive.

  • Great for Rental Properties
Nice product for the price. Appears to be strong enough but I have not tested it. I want to have peace of mind and make it easy for my tenants. Purchased this and have it hanging on the garage wall for emergency. This makes it easy for the tenants who don't have tools to shut off water or gas in case of emergency. We has a water leak once and the past tenant didn't have tools to shut off the water very quickly. This was a great solution for both the tenant and landlord. ... show more

  • Made in the USA and not made in China as all the others I have found are that are for sale on Amazon, need I say more.
I cannot really say I love this but I do give it 5 stars because it is made well enough but most importantly at least in my opinion and all of the other manufactures that sell this similar product on Amazon are from what I have found all made in China and this one that is almost the same price as the ones made in China is made right here in the USA and that in and of itself is worth giving it 5 stars. I purchased this as an emergency gas shut off in case of an earthquake that I can keep near my gas shut off valve outside my house and I had tried it and it works now I don't know how well the rest of the functions work that this is supposed to do but it does work well with the gas shut off. My only thing that I wish they would include would be a small thin pouch that you can put this in and then Velcro or affix it to the gas main maybe in a Velcro pouch that is in a bright red color so it could be easily seen in an emergency and I would be happy to pay a couple of dollars extra for it to come with the pouch. ... show more

  • Works well
Bought 4 of these - for my house and for several family members. I tried it out on water and gas lines at two houses, and it works just fine. My local fire department urges you to keep a tool like this near your gas meter, and to be sure your valve isn't "stuck." But note that they also caution you not to turn your gas all the way off when trying the tool, or your pilot lights will go out. (If that happens they say to call your gas company -- most will come relight your pilot lights for free.) It was a good idea to partially turn the gas and water valves to make sure we could do it in an emergency. At my granny's house, the gas valve had been painted over, and was essentially stuck. I don't think she would have been able to turn the gas off if I hadn't loosened it up again for her. (Remember, don't turn it all the way off!) ... show more
