  • Decent Results
Color: White Size: 2 Drawers (26.77 in Width)
This is the first time assembling a filing cabinet. Once done, I got decen results. The two-drawer filing cabinet is made of metal, is off white (egg shell?), and comes with a lock and key. The metal appears to have been powder coated. So the finish is good. I particularly liked a safety feature built into the cabinet where you can only open one cabinet at a time. If you open the lower drawer you cannot open the uppper one, and vice versa. It also has smooth plastic feet that lets you push and move around the cabinet with relative ease on a hard floor, even if it is full. Assumbly was not difficult. But I thought it was a bit tricky though. It is similar to furniture assembly in that you are screwing parts together. What was new, to me at least, is that certain parts snap together. You literally need to hear teh snap to know you've done it right. You need to do this for the back panel of the drawers. You also need to do this for the drawers when setting them into the sliding mechanism. Setting the drawers into the sliders took me a little while. Each drawer is set on four clips that are attached to the sliding mechanism. I did not know the drawers had to snap intothe clips. So I wondered why the drawers would not line up for a little while. I thought I broker a slider. But then one of the locks snapped into place. Having finally figured it out, I took a slotted screw driver to slip the rest of the clips in. I highly recommend using a slotted screwdriver for this step. As for the build, I would say the metal is on the thin side. The housing and cabinets clearly flex when yu apply pressure to it. I also thought the guides for the lateral files were a little on the unstable side. I am sure it will be fine once I begin putting my files in it. But I would have preferred the file guides inside each drawer to be more stable. For the price, it is hard to argue against this two-drawer lateral file. But given the choice, I would probably pay for a more expensive, pre-assembled filing cabineet. ... show more

  • Was a hassle to put together due to the location of screws
So, first things first, this is a very decent cabinet that fit exactly where I wanted it to which was under a desk. The dimensions were exact to fit there so when it arrived and I got it together, it was a tight squeeze, but fit perfectly. So the dimensions are accurate. The lock works great, it was fairly easy to follow the assembly instructions, and it hold a lot of stuff, but the drawer bottoms are a little flimsy, so hanging files would be best for this with maybe only a few lightweight items that do not sit in folders. It is exactly what i had hoped for and exactly what i needed to organize a lot of paperwork I need accessible rather than digging through boxes to find. However, my title does bring an important piece to the project of building this. The holes for the screws that put this together are all positioned in places that are just ever to slightly more of a hassle than they could have been. It was hard for my hands to fit in and maneuver the screwdriver to get them in and every one sort of had to go in at an angle initially which made it very hard to do. I even had to remove my jewelry to accomplish this because it kept snagging on sides and making it more difficult. Just a quarter of an inch over on most of them would have made this so much simpler and probably a lot faster. What could have been 20 mins to half an hour turned into 50mins plus, so tedious, but, still under an hour so also not bad for the end result which is veey useful and made it ultimately worth the struggle. I would not be opposed to ordering another if I ever needed it despite this, so I feel the full 5 stars is very fair because the end result was so perfrct for my needs. This is still a big win, stable and sturdy enough it could accommodate a printer or other items sitting on top if i ever moved it somewhere else, and just overall, I am very happy with this. ... show more

  • Quicker to put together than you think
When I first unpacked this I thought this is going to take an age. All up I did it in 45 mins. The instructions are clear but need careful study. Everything is included to assemble including a crew driver but I also used an electric screw driver as well. It’s very light weight but for the price point what do you expect. Quality of what you did get is pretty good. All works well and functions. Locks work and draws slide well. There were a few knocks from shipping I guess as the pack is heavy. I think in hindsight I would have been better buying a finished one. Color and finish are good. Overall not bad at the price point. ... show more

  • Nice looking office file cabinet
This is a nice looking file cablinet, the black finish and metal seem well chosen for the job, not overly heavy or too light weight. It was about average to assemble - the directions were mostly visual and were not awesome but they were good enough if you have done lots of these sort of items and once you understand what they mean (IE qty 4 of item #6) They even provide a screwdriver but I would suggest a powered bit driver of some kind. I usually ignore this step but if I were to do this again I would lay everything out first, mapping each item to the item in the directions and work on a low table with some cardboard over it. The lock works effectively and while it is relatively low security (you could break into this with a screwdriver) it is good enough to prevent incidental tampering. Because its low to the ground stability isn't a huge issue, however it will let you open both drawers at the same time. (There are two screw holes in the back if you want to secure it to a wall) 4 stars: Why not higher? Top drawer came partly off the hinges once and sticks a little when pushing in and out. Why not lower? This will do a perfectly find job of being a file cabinet ... show more

  • A Solid File Cabinet That Handles Real Office Storage
Two-drawer lateral file cabinets earn their floor space by offering more filing capacity per inch of depth than vertical cabinets, and this Yukimo unit delivers that advantage in a 26.7-inch width that fits most home office spaces without dominating the room. The lateral format makes it easy to see and access hanging files from above rather than reaching deep into a drawer to find the folder in the back. The lock across both drawers keeps sensitive documents secure in a shared home office or small business environment without requiring a separate locking solution for confidential files. Legal, letter, and A4 compatibility means you're not restricted to a single paper format, which matters in a home office that handles both personal and professional documents across different standards. The black finish is neutral enough to work alongside most desk and shelving setups without clashing, and the assembly process is manageable for a single person with basic tools without the instruction frustration that flat-pack office furniture sometimes delivers. For home office setups that have outgrown a single filing drawer or a stack of boxes, this lateral cabinet brings proper filing organization to a space that needs it without requiring a commercial-grade investment. ... show more

  • This "2 Drawer...File Cabinet" is not difficult to assemble but the directions are a bit difficult.
Color: White Size: 2 Drawers (26.77 in Width)
It's not difficult to assemble Yukimo's "2 Drawer...File Cabinet" but it is a bit difficult to decipher the directions to do so. Not every step or procedure laid out is explicit or easy to understand, and some intuitive observation of the connections may be necessary for a speedy assembly. While not fully understanding the simple diagrammatic directions it took me about 1/2 hour to assemble this. If the directions were more explicit and complete it shouldn't have taken me more than 20 minutes. However, as the photos of my progression shows I did manage to completely assemble it. The cabinet is simple but functional and looks even nicer. My few critiques include the fact that the bottom right corner of the top drawer is a little low and sticks a bit on the upper right corner of the bottom drawer. I tried to switch the drawers but it is more challenging to remove them from the slides than it was to install them on the slides and I left it for another day. There are a few misalignments and less than perfect conditions. Photo 8 shows how one of the corners was not crimped closed in the manufacturing. Photo 9 reveals that the bottom inside corners of the back panels are slightly deformed inwards and a crease in the metal is evident. There are other slight imperfections but they don't affect the overall appearance or functioning, except for the dragging drawer corner. ... show more
