    • Great BMS for 10-12v (you want 4s for 12-14v, closer, but still too high for 12v nominal)
As a 3s BMS, the voltage is a low for most 12v systems, but the BMSs themselves are great quality, so as long as you know you're ordering what you want, these are really sweet little boards. Nice contact pads, high amp rating, just overall pretty pleasant BMSs to work with.

I modded a 9.6V drill designed for NiCD cells to run on 18650s some years ago now, and although it lasts for ages on a single charge I got tired of tearing open the pack to charge each of the 3 batteries separately. I couldn't fit this board in at the end of the cells like it's designed for, but running the leads with 10awg solid core was a suitable alternative. I do appreciate though that the contact pads are aligned to let you tack-weld tin strips straight to the cells without bends, if you know what I mean. I'll be using these for various projects and I'm still not sure if they do a proper balance charge, but I'm going to guess not. Still saves me some effort, I'll probably get by with a manual balance charge once a year now. ... show more
