Life like movement and paint job

I used these fishing lures to catch bass. The body of the hard plastic fish has multiple joints, which simulates the movement of a real fish swimming through the water. This is the best recommended fishing lure for catching bass in countless magazines, and books about fishing. These lures were a little tricky to cast without landing in the water tangled in my fishing line. But I think that was more my inexperience with using them than a product defect. All I can really say is I did catch one bass with one of these lures. It took me three days, and I don't know how many hours, but I did catch one. So my conclusion is that these lures work for catching bass, because I caught one. I like to fish, but I am not an expert fisherman. So I prefer to stick with what I absolutely know when it comes to fishing. I'm not really sure what else to judge a lure on besides whether it worked to catch a fish, or not. But this one did. That's the only part that matters to me when it comes to fishing.

- High Quality – Articulated to mimic noisy swimming motion – Bargain Price I am reviewing the set of 3 large articulated fishing lures. One of the lures really shines with an interesting shifting iridescent pattern as if it was electrified. Of course, that live look iridescent pattern phenomena is created with a super paint job with multiple layers of super shiny paint in patterns covered with multiple layers of clear coat. None of these lures is very fluorescent as seen in the pictures under UV light. I sure hope that fish think that the lures look as tasty to them as they look fantastic to me. This is the first time I have seen a lure that is articulated to mimic a noisy swimming motion, so I thought I would test it in my bathtub, but, my wife caught me, so I will have to wait until I can go fishing. I admit I am not a fisherman, but my buddy is and he is teaching me. He used to fish in “bass tournaments” (whatever that means) and he owns two motorboats so he surely knows what he is talking about. Anyway I showed him these articulated fish lures. He said I should definitely add this set to my take along tackle box. He said they were very high quality, fancy pancy, and professional style. He said that this was a good price for this type of lure for the bigger fish. Apparently, I need to learn a lot of about where and how to use these lures. Please see the attached photographs. One photograph was taken with ordinary room light. The other photograph was illuminated using a UV flashlight that I bought on Amazon. The eyeballs fluoresce brightly. I don’t know exactly what light color wavelengths fish see. The deeper you go in water the darker it gets. Also different wavelength colors of light travel differently in water. So perhaps the “glowing” fluorescent light emitting lures will be easier for the fish to see near the water surface or down deeper.

Originally, I gave this a five star review, but stated it was before I used them. The colors, eyes, and details are all good. I've had good luck in the past with similar multi-jointed crankbaits. They looked so good, but turned out somewhat disappointing in use. These are fine if you want a top water lure -- at the proper retrieve speed, they run just an inch or two below the surface. I expected them to run deeper, at least a couple of feet. They may work better if you add a weight a foot or two in front of the lure. If you retrieve at a faster rate, they flip on their side. I hope the manufacturer experiments a bit with the placement of the line attachment eye. If it was moved back farther, I think this would make a better lure. Adding some weight to the lure body might also help. The hooks seem exceptionally sharp, and I wonder if they have been sharpened to too fine a point. Three of the hook points were slightly bent over making them a little duller than they should be. When using these, I'll be checking the hooks by running my finger up from the barb to the point and sharpening them when necessary. I like that they come in a small plastic case.

I'm pretty impressed with these lures, particularly for the price. Although I haven't caught anything with them yet, I've used them on a couple of recent fishing expeditions, and they seem to perform well. They're solidly constructed, and appear to be quiet durable. The hooks are sharp, and the designs are quite lifelike. I think I'd probably buy these again. I'd recommend them if you're considering buying them.

These swim through the water with surprisingly realistic action. It looks just like a small fish swimming. Durable so far, and good value compared to similar baits I have seen at local brick and mortar stores. They also come in a sleek plastic carrying case that fits them perfectly with no extra bulk. The funny thing is that these are some of the nicest lures that I have and yet they're some of the cheapest that I've ever bought. You get 3 of these things for only $9!!! Compare that to the competition! What surprised me the most is the quality of the treble hooks that come on these lures. Generally, I'd swap the hooks for some Gamakatsu hooks but these are actually pretty good. They're nice and sharp right out of the package. That's pretty unusual for lures in this price range. The swimming action is pretty good. The articulable joints do their job well and create a lifelike motion. Personally, I'm a freshwater fisherman. The coloration of these lures doesn't necessarily lend itself to freshwater fishing but I just gave these lures the "Krylon touch" if you know what I mean. I used 2 shades of grey and white to simulate the colorations on a young bass. They turned out OK enough. You don't have to be too savy in order to fool a musky, pike or walleye. As long as the lure looks and "swims" like a fish, you should be good. Overall, I think these swim baits are a great deal. Considering the low price and also considering that I will inevitably lose one or more of these lures to a snag, I have to recommend them.
