Used it to dim the new clock for the bedroom. Even on the lowest setting it was way too bright. Three layers over the hour and minutes; two layers over the seconds, month and date. The tape shows in the photos, but not in real life.

I broke my backup light because I was distracted... I removed the loose plastic and cleaned the surface with isopropyl alcohol for good adhesion. Cut a piece of the 3M lens repair tape and then applied it making sure to get all the edges down by rubbing them down well without cracking more plastic; I will replace the lens in the future. Durable? Time, rain, heat, sun, and cold will tell, if I become complacent and don't replace the whole taillight lens. Waterproof, it's plastic tape with good 3M adhesive, and from my experience with 3M, it should work well in the rain. For ease of cutting, I quickly cut with a pair of old scissors. bought to patch a hole in a taillight lens that is curved. the adhesive keeps coming loose on the curved area so i am holding it in place with clear tape for now. can't find a replace lens.

I'm very disappointed with the purplish color. I don't understand why they'd have taillight repair tape that doesn't use the red that 99% of cars use! OTherwise, the tape is sticky and works well, as a VERY temporary repair (doesn't match the red AT ALL!).

Had damage to a tail light (not sure when/how), but it left a gap/hole, 3M Lens repair tape was a very good repair, was watertight, not noticeable unless you were really close and looked for it. The repair tape is probably something to have around, in that the automotive supply stores never seem to have it in stock. And even if you replace the tail light or at least lens (not cheap), this keeps you going until the part comes in. ... show more

First off this tape will not stay stuck on a cleaned lens. Real 3m tape will with no problem. Second the stuff is pink when light is added . It's no where near red. Just a waste of money.
