- APPLICATION: 4905 transparent mounting tape utilizes a general purpose adhesive. It is commonly used in applications to join transparent material or where clear or colorless tape is preferred. It is specifically designed for good adhesion to metal, glass and plastics such as polycarbonate and acrylic. Joining transparent material. Mount backlit translucent signs. Edge-bond resin filled glass. Metal, Decorative material and trim Nameplates and logos. Panel to frame.
- FEATURE: Virtually invisible fastening keeps surfaces smooth. Can replace mechanical fasteners (rivets, welds, screws) or liquid adhesives. Eliminate drilling, grinding, refinishing, screwing, welding and associated clean-up. Creates a permanent seal against water, moisture and more. Pressure sensitive adhesive bonds on contact to provide immediate handling strength. Allows the use of thinner, lighter weight and dissimilar materials.
- INSTALLATION AND REMOVABLE: At room temperature, approximately 50% of the ultimate strength will be achieved after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours and 100% after 72 hours. Spraying alcohol on the tape then it is easy to peel off.

I use this 3M VHB tape to mount exterior and interior parts on my vehicles. High bonding strength and quick setting time. Works well to heat and very solid adhesion. Side note : adhesive promoter can help if you are putting this on body parts that will be exposed to the weather or high wind speeds. This stuff is amazing. This tape works great! I had previously tried another name brand of double-stick tape which didn't even hold for 12 hours. This 3M tape is going on two days now with no sign of weakening. It was recommended by a friend of mine and I was kind of skeptical but am glad I got it.

I use VHB at work for surface-mounting various items in high-wear applications. It's extremely good. There are three steps: 1) Stick it to your work piece 2) Peel the backing, apply the item to its new life partner, and hold it like you're staunching bleeding 3) Wait 30 days for a full cure This stuff is STRONG and once it's cured, it's not going anywhere. It will leave residue, although with good technique it's possible to peel it off cleanly. At full cure, especially where it's hot and dry, this stuff will lose its plasticity and become more of a cement, and you will basically have to chisel your thing off whatever you stuck it to. I've seen these last for 3-5 years in the field to mount USB hubs under desks. You can imagine the abuse what with gravity trying to pull them down 24/7 and some electrical engineer or dental assistant ramming USB connectors into them and tripping over cables and whatnot. It's not super cheap but it comes in lots of sizes and it will do the job.

Works great. I purchased this for a vinyl strip for my sliding glass door. It’s been on there two months so far with no issues. It’s been 20° F here at night. I will see how it lasts when it’s 110°F in a couple of months

This stuff will stick anything to anything else. I've used it to replace car emblems and even used it to stick a Blink camera to a brick wall. The camera has been stuck to the wall for 6 months and hasn't moved a bit. If you need it to stick...Stick with 3M VHB tape.

I use this tape to mount things to vehicles. It is very strong. Used it to mount solar panels along with caulking to the top of my camper. Lasted for years. Use it to mount small lights to my motorcycles. Use it at work to attach plastic bits outdoors. Its a wonderful product.
