I was a little nervous to use the kit because of some mixed reviews, but I was impressed by the results on my 15 year old headlights. The left picture is before starting the process; the right is after completing all the steps. I made sure to carefully follow the instructions. My headlights were not too yellowed and pretty evenly hazy, so I just wet-sanded with the 1000 grit until the coating/residue coming off was no longer yellow, and then buffed with the 3000 grit for twice the time of the 1000. I thought I had messed up an area one of the lights with the first UV wipe, and I was tempted to try to touch up the first pass, but the instructions say not to, so I waited and tried to be more careful with the second pass. It did turn out crystal clear - no streaks at all. It took about an hour to do both headlights from start to finish, including taping. It has only been about a week, but the lights still look like the day I restored them, even after a rain. I will definitely purchase again if/when necessary. ... show more

I was skeptical, but rather than spending hundreds to replace hazy, yellowing headlights, I decided to give 3M Auto Restore a try. Instructions were easy to follow and the kit came with everything you need. Anyone can do this. The headlights cleaned up really well. They are crystal clear and look new again! I can't really rate longevity yet, as I only refinished them about a week ago. However, if they need a touch up down the line, I'll buy another kit. Just as a point of reference, my headlights are in good shape (no cracks, pitting or surface issues). I have a medium severity, yellowing haze on the surface. If your headlights are in really bad shape, 3M has a stronger kit you should use. ... show more

Easy to use, great basic kit to restore clarity to aging headlights. Managed to use it on two headlights and the teo turn signals on a 2001 Yukon. Didn't quite get the turn signals 100% as it was pushing the clear coat provided to it's limit. Would recommend. Headlights are much better at nightime, and almost look new. Definitely takes years off the discoloration and fading from the sun. ... show more

I've tried other kits without success. This one worked perfectly. The headlights on my motorhome were foggy looking. I did the headlights, plus front and back plastic license covers, and the headlights on my Honda CR-V all at the same time. You use 1000 grit "sander" to remove the imperfections then finish with 3000 grit provided. After you spray on water and wipe the lens down, it ends up looking foggier then when you started. But after it dries tear open the first of two packets and take out the paper soaked in some miracle liquid. Wipe that on in rows, wait for it to dry, then open the second packet and repeat. The result is startling. I mentioned to a cousin that I'd done this and it turned out his headlights were foggy too. So I took him a second kit and we did his Chevy Equinox and 2500 truck. See photos attached. Same incredible results. He emailed me later to say he had just driven down a winding canyon road at night and was amazed at how much more light his headlights provided after treatment. Two months later there is no sign of the fog returning. ... show more

My headlights were yellow and glazed over, pretty bad. Vehicle was a 2011 with 200k miles. Could barely see at night. This kit takes about 20 min and they look absolutely brand new! Well worth the $10. Highly recommended! I used glass cleaner instead of water to sand the lights, only thing I did different. Excellent results. ... show more

You know how you buy things that you hope works, but you pretty much expect it not to? Well, this actually works. You can see the difference in the before & after pics. I had prepared myself for failure and resigned myself to spending a bunch of $$ for new covers, but HURRAY! It worked! Works great! But it’s only enough for a single headlamp on todays vehicles. Buy two up front. Also, though there is no warning, don’t attempt in cooler temps. It leaves weird streaking marks when applying coating.

For ten bucks you can’t lose. If you’re careful with reading between the lines on the directions you can stretch this thing out pretty easily. I got two cars out of it. I masked off, sanded and washed as described. Used one wipey for both coats on the headlights for each car and achieved 2x acceptable results! ... show more
