Description

3M 2080 Series Satin Vinyl Wrap Designed with both DIY installers and professional restyling enthusiasts in mind, 3M Satin Vinyl Wrap lets you customize your ride by adding a sleek satin finish. Unlike going to a tint shop or detailer, you'll be able to save time and money throughout the process by doing the work yourself. You'll also be able to take pride in knowing you achieved these professional-looking automotive personalization results all on your own. With several different satin shades to choose from, you'll be able to achieve the exact look you've been dreaming of. The satin or flat finish has become increasingly popular due to the influence of Plasti-dip coatings. But, as anyone who's ever used dips knows, spraying your ride with dips is not only messy but it can take some serious time and practice before you get a clean, even coat. And that's if you even have the time, space and money to do it yourself. But, probably the worst thing about dips is that they can be easily peeled off, ruining hours of work in seconds. Unlike Plasti-dip coatings, 3M Satin Vinyl Wrap gives you crisp, long-lasting results. 3M 2080 Series Satin films are the perfect answer to these problems once and for all while still giving you the satin-finished look you're looking for. With rolls of up to 10 yards in length, you can buy just what you need for any project or job. Best of all, we offer over a dozen colors so you're sure to find the look you need. Just follow the instructions to add your self-adhesive, pressure- activated vinyl on any surface of your vehicle. These rolls of vinyl wrap are specifically designed to deliver both style and performance. Backed by years of research and testing, they give you confidence that your wrap installation will apply seamlessly and remain in place for years to come. Once this exterior wrap is properly installed, you'll experience peace of mind knowing your car, SUV or truck's new look will be resistant to water and fuels as well as salt, acids and mild alkaline substances whenever you are out on the road. While the satin wrap is built to last, it is nonpermanent and removable. Whenever you need to replace the wrap or want to create a whole new style and design, you'll be able to peel it right off and repeat the installation process. Ready to transform your ride? Get the look of satin with the improved 2080 line and start expressing your creativity with a wrap that delivers pro features, unbeatable reliability and exceptional value. Types of Applications Vehicles No matter what kind of design vision you have in mind, satin vinyl wrap will bring it to life. This film is meant to be applied over your factory paint finish and is removable so you can take it off without damaging the underlying surface. ATV, Bike and Motorcycles Along with wrapping cars, you can also wrap ATV's, Bikes, Motorcycles, RVs, Boats, and more! Our 3m Satin vinyl wrap can conform to flat, compound, convex and concave curves on a wide range of other surfaces. Signage/Architectural Applications Since this vinyl is compatible with a Cricut machine, it can be used for crafting and creating all kinds of signage from decorating your new office's front window, adding flair to the wall or your dining room, or creating a sign for your business. The options are endless. Furniture & Appliance Refacing Add a custom touch to your homes cabinets, countertops, doors, and refrigerators. With our range of colors and sizes, anyone can be an interior designer. Read more Read more Whether you drive a sports car or minivan, an exterior car vinyl wrap delivers quality, style, performance and protection that you can trust. You'll have endless ways to wrap your car depending on your needs and preferences: Full: Want a distinctive look or ultimate protection for your vehicle? A full wrap completely covers your car's painted surfaces, helping you achieve both goals at once.Partial: A partial wrap lets you customize just one portion of your vehicle. You'll still achieve a custom look while spending less time and effort.Roof only: Wrapping just the roof offers a contrasting pop of color that works especially well on darker-colored vehicles.Cockpit style: Popular with supercars, the "cockpit style" wrap creates a two-toned effect that adds a lot of style and visual interest.Hood only: To create an eye-catching finish, consider wrapping your vehicle's hood. While this change is popular with race cars, any car can be transformed with a hood wrap.Bumpers only: Since your bumpers experience a lot of wear and tear, wrapping them adds a durable layer of protection while also allowing you some personal expression.Door only: With a door wrap, your vehicle will be protected from bumping against walls and railings as well as other cars when you're in a high-traffic parking area.Fenders only: For a quick DIY project that will add both a pop of color and protection, consider wrapping your fender flares.Grille only: Whether you are interested in chrome delete or want to make a big impact on the look of your vehicle without spending a lot of time or money, a grille wrap will let you achieve your goals.Rims only: Since your rims can be susceptible to daily wear and tear, chipping or scrapes, wrapping them adds a protective layer while transforming the overall appearance of your ride.Trunk only: With a trunk wrap, you can add either a solid, contrasting color or a texture or pattern and achieve a sporty look in no time.Tailgate only: While it's a smaller feature, wrapping your tailgate in a color, design or texture will make a big statement. 3M Brushed Metal Wraps Ready to Install Dual-cast wrap films give you stability and color-fast performance even around the craziest of curves. 2080 Series Satin films can be stretched up to 40% with the use of heat, so it's perfect for DIY installers and pros alike. Every order of satin vinyl wrap includes your Rvinyl Application Card and detailed instructions to help guide you through the process. Even if it's your first time using satin wrap, you'll understand exactly how to prepare, wrap and squeegee the vinyl on. Seamless Wraps The 60-inch width allows you to wrap almost any section of a vehicle without seams. In addition to cars, trucks, SUVs and bikes you can use these Satin wraps on an almost endless variety of surfaces. Use them as refrigerator wraps, furniture and tabletop wraps or even above the static water line on boats and watercraft. Unlike paint, which can spill and be a messy process, black satin vinyl will give you professional results. No matter what kind of surface you decide to wrap, you'll achieve a seamless finish that turns heads. No Overlaminates Needed Use it right out of the box — no need to print or apply an overlaminate. In other words, this film can be used outdoors and won't fade or delaminate (come unstuck) for up to 5 years. Nonetheless, for ease of removal, it is recommended that you remove your wraps every three years. When the time comes to remove it, you'll be able to simply peel it off and install your new satin wrap. Bubble-Free Installations The 3M air-release vinyl is made using advanced technology, making it possible to achieve sleek results in less time and for less money. The Controltac adhesives and Invisible air release channels assure fast and easy virtually bubble-free applications. Simply clean and prepare the surface, apply heat and squeegee on. Because these wrapping films are made using 3M technology, you can lift and reposition this air-egress vinyl until you get it right. • I love this product and definitely will be using again!
Size: 5ft x15ft Color: Satin White - 2080 S10
I had first couple weeks ago purchased a smaller role of this vinyl, and I had called them with information that there were some markings on it that would not come off. And immediately immediately this wonderful woman. Mariel S. Handled it immediately by responding quickly to my email and refunding me for that role. I received my new role today which was much larger and it is perfect. I highly suggest and recommend this place. It’s wonderful . ... show more

  • Great Anti-Scratch Surface for Pet Claws, Etc. Great Anti-Scratch Surface for Pet Claws, Etc.
Size: 5ft x 2ft Color: Matte Pine Green Metallic - 2080 M206
I've had this applied to my backyard stormdoor for about a month. It prevents obvious scratch marks from appearing after my rottweiler scratches it daily to be let inside. Slight scratch indentations up-close, but from a distance it's completely unnoticeable! Easy to cut and apply (and re-apply) with very manageable bubble removal. Flexible enough to take solid form over any curved or edged surface and does not peel from rain or heat. *However, the "matte" finish is not a flat value; the color value changes slighly depending on the angle of light on the surface. ... show more

It’s easy to work with, bubbles can be removed with a hair dryer BUT the color is not the same sadly, it’s way more metallic and less brown in person

  • Works!!! No bubbles and no peeling but used heat gun generously. Works!!! No bubbles and no peeling but used heat gun generously.
Size: 5ft x 1ft Color: Gloss Black - 2080 G12
Was my first time applying vinyl to do the chrome delete and it was not as complicated as I thought it would be, I’m not a pro but handy with good amount of patience but was surprised that it required less patience and time than I expected. It’s been 2 months since and no bubbles or “unsticking” but I followed directions. Few tips to consider if you are doing this: 1. Watch some videos - search and watch a couple on how to do this. 2. Clean surface well - I used soap first then cleaned surface of my chrome with alcohol pads to remove any oil/wax. 3. Tools you’ll need: you don’t need whole big set of tools(I did buy every possible tool and most of it was not used). What was most useful is “credit card looking tool, sharp cutting knife/razor, gloves, tool with felt or whatever that fabric is that helps you to squeeze bubbles out and position vinyl and HEAT GUN! Please do use heat gum, I guarantee that hair blower will cause more problems wasting all your work. Applying: don’t stretch! Apply and let it stick without stretching vinyl. Once applied, cut it gently and somewhat evenly in angle going under your chrome detail, leaving few millimeters of vinyl on edges. Tuck it in with tools - make sure your car is dry though, mine was bit wet after rain and even then it’s still worked (surprisingly) but when I used heat gun it dried few spots under chrome. HEAT GUN: be gentle not to burn your vinyl or paint but go for it and give it a nice heat - I think this is what I’ve done right and probably the reason why it doesn’t peel at all, you can use gloves to tuck it in at the edges and once hot it conforms into surface on corners making it look good. Don’t be shy here! Result: instead of paying 850 as per cheapest quote I’ve gotten for chrome delete, all materials and tools (I’ve head cheap heat gun already) I spent 65 bucks and have very very nice result, couple mistakes in couple of places that barely noticeable but if you have extra vinyl, you can peel your “mistake” off and try again but this totally worth it! Took about 1.5-2 hours to do entire trim around all windows. Color of the vinyl: it is more brownish hue to it than pure black, at first I was disappointed and I also used two different brands (3M 2” vinyl tape and this vinyl for curvy trims) but depending on light and angle you can barely see “brown” and it blends in with the rest of the car well. Verdict: definitely try it! Now wonder if I can do window tint myself… hmmm. :) ... show more

  • Product is is good but color...
Size: 5ft x 1ft Color: Satin Vampire Red - 2080 SP273
I'm looking for a dark matte red and I had no idea how hard this would be. I know they say colors look different online but with the amount of things I buy on Amazon, I've had maybe a handful of encounters where colors didn't match. Regardless, the red looked perfect on here. Even better than I was willing to settle for. It came and I was a little shocked at first. I just stood and stared at it. It seriously made me immediately think of christmas wrapping paper. A deep maroon with a deep shine. Like velvet. I think I could have done it if the shine aspect wasn't in it. I've gone through three colors on here. My best advice even though I didn't want to, was buy the sample cards on anything you want to try. Bring them out into the sun if they are going to be put in or outside of your car. When you see the difference from online and in person you'll thank yourself for not wasting time ordering something and thinking you're going to start your project. Yeah it's a couple bucks and I do NOT like "wasting" money but after ordering three colors and having to send back, I'd slap myself in the head when I started looking for the vinyl. Don't pass up the opportunity. For those that don't have the options, scour the reviews for comparisons of what the reviewer said the color looked like. Check out the pictures too. See if they offer free returns and if no pictures or free returns, gotta make the hard decision. The product itself is great. I've never had a hard time with 3m 1080 or 2080. 1080 is more forgiving because it's thinner but if you stretch it too much it tears or makes stretch lines. 2080 needs more manipulation but it is not difficult and you can stretch it out a bit more to save any mistakes or difficult spots. Either one you're good and it takes practice. I can't tell you how much I've gone through. Yeah I'm a perfectionist but also noob. If you can take the trim off your car, do it! If not, damn it's a mother. You can't get around corners and "lock" it in as much or stretch it to lay smooth and grap the edges. Sometimes you can get away with it and others you can't. BE PATIENT with yourself and when you start telling yourself you suck, just remember everything new takes time to learn. And sometimes, even the professionals will tell you, I wouldn't do that either. (I have a guy who PPF'd my truck and he laughed (politely) and gave me kudos for still going at it. Hey, it's turned into a hobby and some stuff has actually worked! Sorry for the rant. Just check the colors and if you're not winning, sometimes the wrap professionals are the best source. Make a visit and they'll be happy to show you the insane amount of colors. If you get a bad vibe, go somewhere else. Good luck and happy wrapping! ... show more
