I've tried three wraps for small projects on my vehicles, and the 3M 2080 M22 is the easiest to work with. The toughest parts of wrapping emblems are the curves and indentations - the 3M wrap with a good heat gun and pressure works great. Note: sometimes a squeegee will not work on small areas. I ordered both the 3x5 & 1.5 to black out the chrome on my outback. When the 3x5 arrived, it was bent in half & not really usable with where creases were. Fortunately customer service was willing to replace it. This was my first vinyl blackout attempt. After cleaning the chrome, the application was effortless. Only the cutting alone the right edges was a pain. Since the install, it has held up to hot-hot sun & rough car washes. So far so good. The vinyl is of good quality, but mine came in damaged from shipping. Check your vinyl as soon as you get it. I returned mine and promptly received a replacement. Other than that good, but be careful in areas where you have depressions(door handles, cowl covers, license plate areas, etc) and need to stretch the vinyl, it wants to separate after several attempts. The air release was no match for my lack of skills. I got plenty of bubbles and wrinkles that I couldn't get out. I think I could do better on another try, but you only get one piece. I wasted my money trying this out.

It's a really clean and easy to apply look, I'll attach my first couple pieces with some pretty intimidating curves as an example. I wanted a deep matte black to cover the chrome on my interior and this is exactly what I envisioned. I did use a heat gun (my wife's hair dryer) once but with patience on my part it never would have been needed. The one thing ill say is get an actual kit for install, what it comes with is a basic credit card shaped tool which will cut the material. I included the before and after photos. ... show more
