I originally painted the trim on my Z a nice glossy black. The problem with it is...about every 2 years, I have to repaint it to repair the little dings and chips the trim will get from driving the car every day. I used this vinyl to wrap the trim around my windshield and around my T-tops and I am very pleased with how it turned out. This product is easy to use and as all 3M products, is professional grade. If you've never worked with vinyl before, you might have someone who has worked with it to help you, as it is not an easy task. You can't just gorilla palm this stuff on...it has to be finessed or it will tear. The surface also has to be prepped properly and you have to use a plastic body filler squeegee in order to press the bubbles out. I am pleased with this product and will purchase more in order to do the trim on my other Z. The picture I've included shows the newly covered lower trim. To the left and immediately to the top is the painted, uncovered trim. You can see the chips in the paint and the rusty bit on the top left portion of the bigger piece of trim.

This stuff is good. My roof on my 2006 Silverado began peeling, so I purchased this to add a strip to stop the peeling and protect the metal underneath. The gloss black blends in nicely with the paint, so you cannot tell that the paint peeled. I think this is an excellent quick fix to prevent paint from peeling more. I also purchased to black out my chrome grill. I have not done it yet, but I do know this stuff stretches nicely, and I think it will work great, and of course will not chip when rocks hit it! id recommend this product!

Used it for wrapping the interior trim in my f30. The material is great. It was "sold by 3m" and but vivvid. Did have a slight orange peel look to it but it looks pretty good for what I'm using it for. Would buy from 3m again.

I used this to wrap the grille of my car black. Having no experience with wrapping, this was surprisingly straightforward to use. I would recommend buying a heat gun for anyone planning to wrap something however. The wrap stretches easily under heat and conforms to different shaped surfaces very well. The look of it is very similar to a gloss black paint. There have been no nicks or holes in it after being on the front of my car and driving over a thousand miles on the freeway. It is cleans easily and doesn't stick to dirt. Peeling it off is also straightforward. Using just a little heat, the wrap peels off leaving very little to no residue. This product has the quality people expect from 3M products.

1. Three day Prime, instead of two days! 2. Some mild ‘wrinkles’ from it being rolled - not too bad and probablynto be somewhat expected. Not that I am experienced in vinyl wrapping, this was my first time, but I was able to mitigate the wrinkles with hair dryer. 3. The BIGGEST disappointment was the actual finish of the material, yes it was black and yes it was glossy, no problems there. However, it looked ‘splotchy’, or ‘stained’ - not sure if photos will show it as bad as it was - I expected it to be like a mirror/glass - IT WAS NOT!!

I ordered this product for a bike project instead of having the bike painted I installed the vvivid 3m vinyl wrap black gloss on both fenders and gas tank with a little patience this vinyl went on easy and looks fantastic I received many compliments on this vinyl I would order this vinyl again and I highly believe in this vinyl wrap.Thanks vvivid and Amazon.
