Description

3M 1080 WRAP FILM SERIES are long-term, removable, dual cast coloured films are designed for solid colour vehicle detailing, decoration and full wraps without graphic protection. This film's Controltac pressure-activated adhesive allows it to slide and be repositioned until firm pressure is applied. The non-visible Comply air release channels assure fast, easy and virtually bubble-free installations. These vinyl films (minimum 3.5 mil) are sold in 60 inch rolls, allowing almost any section of a vehicle to be wrapped without seams. This film is recommended for full wraps and can be applied to your vehicles hood, trunk, roof, mirrors, door handles, glass, motorcycle parts, chrome, metal parts and just about any relatively non-porous surface. I wanted to protect my girlfriends brand new ikea desk since she does make up- which could easily stain. Ikea unfortunately does not make a glass top for this one, so I wrapped it for easy cleaning. “Semi-easy” to work with. The material is great, just not my wrapping skills. Overall, it turned out great. Stretchable, sticky, strong, ultra-pure white, easy to cut, beautiful high-gloss finish and it arrived in 3 days after ordering. in this review I’m going to talk about this vinyl brand vs more expensive stuff from the view point of a self taught novice vinyl wrapper and some tips and insight I’ve learned. Backstory: So I’ve done two small motorcycles and 2 helmets and from a beginner stand point if you want to wrap something for the first time I say do it and don’t be scared to. You’ll probably mess up or get close to but that’s all right it’s very easily fixable with a small amount of heat using a heat gun. Material: I’ve wrapped my first bike and helmet using a more expensive wrap from metro restyling and that was very forgiving and had little to absolutely no bubbles or winkles. I bought this wrap on amazon for my second motorcycle and helmet wrap and it wasn’t too bad it wasn’t as stretchy as the metro one and there is some small winkles and It’s pretty prone to peel on the edges after awhile but overall it is good wrap for the money!! I would recommend metro first or if you wanna save a few bucks I’d recommend this second! Tips: I can not stress this enough though, BUY AN ACTUAL HEAT GUN it's extremely worth it because other people have tried using hairdryers on high heat so I tried it myself one time and it takes a painfully long amount of time to heat the vinyl. it is by far worth spending the extra money to get a proper heat gun just do NOT heat up the vinyl too much it doesn’t need much heat to stretch or retract etc. also be very mindful of stretching your vinyl because it can stretch a little too much and it looks thin and faded and be extra mindful on your edges especially if you do multiple vinyls on one piece using knifeless tape because it’s very thick vinyl so if you dont layer it right you'll see the seam. ... show more

Bought to see how it matched up to a White Ram truck as I heard it close. It's not very close, even from a distance it's obvious. It did match my white Toyota Sequoia perfectly though. Thought I'd put this in a review for those trying to find the right match when wrapping parts.

the only downside of this is it is of course a wrap, so you somewhat have to know what you're doing for it to come out looking 100% professional. but other than that, the film itself is actually very well made and the finish is very bright and looks and feels high quality.

Used this to wrap my huge mahogany desk. Looks good, very white, very flexible, and sticks very well. Can be peeled off without damaging vinyl in case you need to make adjustments. Glossy but not overly shiny so it does not reflect too much light. Toughness, I tried lightly poking surface with my blunt nail which left a mark but surprisingly semi-healed on its own after a few minutes.
