Description

3M 1080 Series Vinyl is a dual cast film specifically designed for vehicle application to provide dimensional stability and durability without the need for an overlaminate. The pressure-activated adhesive allows you to slide and reposition the film over the surface of the vehicle until you apply firm pressure. The non-visible air release channels ensure a fast, easy and virtually bubble-free installation when professionally installed, saving valuable installation time.

I bought these to cleanly put my CAV decals onto my car. I'm not sure if black works for everyone, but my car's black so after application the vinyl wrap isn't noticeable at all. I had to take my car to the body shop after the front bumper was dented after a semitruck tire decided it wanted to stop chilling on the highway and penetrate my car instead and when I picked up the car the body shop commented that the vinyl wrap worked really well and the decals came off cleanly! I haven't put the decals back on yet so I'm not sure how easy it is, but either way these worked well for the original purpose I bought them for – to be able to cleanly remove my CAV decals once they expire. ... show more

On flat surfaces it's a cinch on round or contours not so much. I gave up after a while. I love how it works though. Goes on nicely. pulls up nicely to reposition, looks great but I just couldn't get it around curves easily. Maybe with a lot more practice

I had already cut the roll and applied a couple of pieces before I peeled the cover film away and realized how glossy it is. I have another roll that is labeled glossy and this product is the same sheen. Not sure if it is mislabeled but I can’t use it in my current application.
