  • Great 3D printer for a beginner like me!
Size: Ender3 V2 Neo
I've had this printer for a couple of weeks and I'm hooked. It prints beautifully out of the box, and after a few cheap upgrades (dual z axis, filament runout sensor, "painted" build plate, custom firmware, and side filament spool) now it's even better! This is my first 3D printer, so I was starting from scratch. It's very easy to learn and to set up out of the box since it comes mostly assembled. I had no problems at all with assembly and getting it all adjusted - search for a unboxing and setup video from "Just Vlad" and you'll be up and running in no time. I'd also recommend looking into custom firmware upgrades, since they unlock some very nice features that are missing from the stock firmware, like automated filament loading/unloading and automated bed leveling. This is a great little printer, with or without upgrades/mods, and I'm sure it'll give me lots of enjoyment in the future. Sometimes I wish I had upgraded to the S1 Pro for the ability to print TPU, but this was on sale at the time I purchased it... which made it almost half the price of an S1 Pro. TPU is supposed to be quite finicky and frustrating to print, and would be a small amount of my projects, so I think this was really the best choice for me as a beginner to 3d printing... and honestly I'm extremely happy with my experience with it so far! ... show more

  • Enjoy headaches and sometimes 3d Printing? Then you will love the Ender 5 Pro.
TL;DR - Very poor quality control, warped bed, nozzle nearly stuck in hotend, TERRIBLE included filament. I can't recommend this product. I thought about, and researched 3D printers for at least a year before finally pulling the trigger on an Ender 5 Pro. I originally wanted a Qidi because I heard so many good things about them, but after hearing good things about the Ender 5 too, I decided to get one instead. I heard it was for people who were technically savvy and liked to tinker and learn. However, I have fought with this thing since day one and I think it is a terrible product. First, I was sent a defective unit. The Z-axis holes did not line up with the frame at all as it was crooked. I contacted the vendor who offered to send a new Z-Axis screw, but I told him no, it was the entire Z-Axis assembly that needed replacing. A few days later, I got a text message (yes, a text message) from the vendor asking me to face time (???) so I can show him the issue. I ultimately declined and initiated a return through Amazon, which I should have done in the first place. Assembly of the second Ender 5 Pro was straightforward with no issues. The Z-axis assembly lined up fine. I took my time and made sure all screws were tightened evenly and everything was straight. I discovered my mainboard version is 4.2.2. I was bewildered by the pack of zip ties and the "figure it out" attitude from the directions regarding cable management, but that's pretty minor. The first big problem is the bed. My magnetic bed is incredibly warped and this apparently is very common, which says a lot about Creality's quality assurance. No amount of leveling will guarantee a print that occupies a portion of the bed. Thankfully, the things I wanted to print at first were very small, but this is still a massive shortcoming, as a flat and level bed is IMPERATIVE for 3D printing. This is really unacceptable. No amount of leveling will fix this, and for first time users who are unacquainted with warped beds, this will be EXTREMELY confusing and frustrating. I got a few decent prints out of it after a few tries, but the prints were very stringy. I read that decreasing the nozzle temperature would help it, so I did little by little with each successive print. No change. Supposedly increasing the retraction settings supposedly would help too. No change. Stringy prints. Failed prints. This is the second big problem: THE INCLUDED FILAMENT IS GARBAGE. DO NOT USE IT. Why such crap filament would come with the printer is beyond me -- you would expect Creality to include a GOOD filament to show off the printer's capability, but this is a terrible example. On the Ender forums, people ask why their prints come out looking terrible all the time, and they are always using the included white filament. I put new filament in which helped with the stringing issue a little bit. However, the printer clogged after one print. This was due to increasing the retraction settings so much to fix the stringing from the previous included filament. I decided to change the nozzle with the extra that was included. I heated up the nozzle per Creality's instructions, but could NOT get it off with the included wrench because it was on so tight, the wrench kept skipping on the nozzle. I then tried to support the hot end with a wrench but could not grip it. After a lot of muscle and an adjustable wrench, I broke the nozzle free, but a metal shaving came out of the hot end when the nozzle was removed. The hot end now looks crooked. Or was it already crooked before? I don't know. I cleared the clog, installed the new nozzle, and also a glass bed (which helped with leveling a little bit, but still having trouble as the Creality glass bed is ALSO warped). I tightened the nozzle very snug while it was heated up and did a test print. The test print was simple and came out okay. The second print with the new nozzle and bed I just attempted deposited a big random glob of filament -- where did that come from? It's oozing out between the threads where the hot end meets the nozzle, probably because the hot end threads are broken from removing the first one. Now I have to contact Creality's customer support, or shell out for a new hot end now. I am so sorely disappointed with this printer. I was so excited to start 3D printing. Just buy a Qidi or something. Save yourself the headache. ... show more

  • Good for tinkerers and people who like to print upgrades
I love this printer, I like to tinker on it and find ways to make it better. I have two other printers that I've gotten before this one and I have "some" experience with printing and moding. I don't know if I would say this is a good first printer. It definitely needs some printable upgrades to insure good printing and long lasting life span of the printer. If this is your first printer, look up some YouTube videos for printable upgrades, you'll need them. Also, I suggest to buy a new magnetic plate or get a glass plate for the bed, my stock plate did NOT last very long. Everyone goes with a new magnetic plate, I went with the Creality glass build plate only because I prefer it. I believe this printer is better than an Ender 3/Ender 3 v2 mostly because the bed drops on the Z axis rather than slinging the bed back and forth on the Y axis. Even though the 5 pro has the same build area as the Ender 3, it prints much faster and more evenly because it doesn't have to sling lots of mass around. The Ender 5 pro does take up some more space than an Ender 3 but I'm okay with that. The only bad thing that I really don't like about the printer is the software and screen display. The Ender 3 v2 has a much better home, menu, and settings screen. The one on the Ender 5 pro seems out dated, and after using the Ender 3 v2 and the Ender 5 plus for more than a year, it just doesn't compare to the two. Came with upgraded springs, extruder, and bowden tube, which is awesome and a huge help to getting great prints. The upgrades aren't needed to print, but it does make a difference in the prints and the over all use of the machine. ... show more

  • Very good 3D printer for beginners
Size: Ender3 V2 Neo
I just started 3D printing with this printer and it is absolutely amazing. It is hard to get it right. The 3D models come out extremely smooth without sanding. It takes about 2 hours for small prints. Highly recommend for budget / beginner printer.

  • Amazing very easy setup and first print.
Size: Ender3 V2 Neo
This is my first 3d printer I have owned. I have a couple of friends with them but havenโ€™t used one myself. I picked up package started assembling around 3pm. By 9pm I had both sample models printed. Very happy with purchase. I recommend watching videos and asking questions. It is a process but once figured out it is easy an fun. Side note if you donโ€™t have patience be prepared nothing is fast but end result is amazing. ... show more
