I tumbled and and then laid out this comforter for 3 days. It has a lot of fill - 4lb 8.7oz (72.7ounces) according to the label - so it is pretty warm. I used it down to 57F (14C) room temperature and it kept me warm with only an added sheet. It has no smell that I could discern and, while I do get some loose feathers, it is not a lot. I don't see any manufacturing defects and it has 8 loops for attachment. But I had expected something a bit bit better. Let me say why: - It is not that light. I weighed it at over 8lb (3.6kg) - My comforter doesn't look nearly as puffy as the one in the picture on Amazon This comforter claims 750 fill, but it is a lot heavier and flatter than my camping quilt with 850 fill. Yes, 850 fill is better, but only by 13%. To explain my doubts about the filling, let me do the math. 750 fill means the down fills 750 cubic inches of volume per 1 ounce of fill. So the total volume of the comforter down should be 750 x 72.7 = 54,525 cubic inches (about 0.89 m^3). Divide that by the surface area of the comforter from the product label in the picture: 54,525 / (104x96) = 5.461 inches (13.87 cm). So, the average thickness of the comforter could be over 5 inches (7.5cm). That would be puffy, but this comforter is not. It has a lot of fill but it is somewhat lumpy. The 3rd picture, backlit, gives some indication of the lumpiness. Does this mean it is not meeting spec? Not sure about that - the specification is, of course, measured outside of the comforter under lab conditions. And fill power, by itself, does not indicate anything useful. A better specification is the warmth and weight ratings including the cloth - figures given for reputable camping equipment. For my part, this is my third comforter and I've been a bit disappointed with each one. My next comforter will probably be synthetic.
