  • Great for beginners - stunning colors
Color: blue
Got this for my son for Christmas, and he loves it! The colors are also very beautiful. He's 5'4" tall, and has absolutely no problem holding and playing the guitar comfortably. This is his first guitar, and with all the things that come with the guitar, it's the perfect guitar for aspiring musicians! ... show more

  • Electric guitar
Color: black
My granddaughter was elated. The guitar is nice quality and the amp sounded really great. My granddaughter plays piano and flute she just really wanted electric 🎸. This is a really good beginners guitar.

  • Good starter
Perfect for a beginner. My son used a different amp mostly because he wanted it to be louder. The amp it comes with is great though.

  • Good Starter Pack
This came well packaged. The guitar weighed 6.3 pounds. The gig bag is just a dust cover with no padding. There is no tremolo bar, even though one is mentioned on the Amazon page. And that's fine, since a Telecaster type guitar like this one has a hard tail bridge. The practice amp is okay, even though it has to be plugged in to an outlet to be used. The strap and cable are very basic. The tuner is the one included in most beginner packages and it's frustrating to use. Better to grab an app on your phone to assist with tuning. The guitar itself is good. The tuners have a bit of slack, but functioned well enough. The nut is plastic, but cut well enough to play cowboy chords for a beginner. There were no high frets or fret buzz, even after I lowered the action. More about that later. The fret ends weren't perfect, but they were good enough to play on. The neck is somewhat of a slim C and very comfortable to play. It feels unfinished, but smooth. I suggest you use the included hex wrench to lower the action until it's around 6-7/1,000's or you start to have any fret buzz, then back off a bit. It seems that almost all guitars are set too high from the factory. This was no exception, although it wasn't incredibly high. It could have been played at the factory setting, but you'll enjoy it a lot more with lower action. The body is well finished with no obvious blemishes. The bridge is a top loader, so no string through body on this guitar. I prefer string through on my Telecasters, but I didn't notice any pinging or sustain problems, so this one is staying as a top loader. The electronics function well, and the selector switch feels surprisingly firm, which is a good thing. The pickups are fine as long as you stick to clean tones. And as a beginner, that's likely what you should be doing. This guitar and kit are exactly the kind of thing someone starting out on guitar needs. And for around 105 dollars after a coupon on the Amazon page, this is a very good value for money. ... show more

  • Beautiful, but UNPLAYABLE unless...
Color: blue
The media could not be loaded. Beautiful instrument with a beautiful finish! However, it's unplayable without extensive knowledge of how to set up a new guitar. The amp is really bad, and so is the cable. I have an adult son who is very knowledgeable about music and stringed instruments, so I was confident when I ordered this beginners guitar kit. When he got it out of the box, tuned to our (digital) piano, and all plugged in, his opinion was that it is unplayable! In my video, you can hear how it sounds out of tune. No beginner will be able to make this guitar sound good, and learn to play well with this guitar as it comes. It sounded really horrible, until he plugged the guitar to his good amp with his good cable. I tried to video the difference, but my phone's microphone doesn't preserve the sound quality difference. In person, however, the difference was very obvious! But some of the notes still sounded out of tune, and he thought it must be a manufacturing defect. He spent an hour working on this guitar, filing the nut and other things I don't really understand. At the end of the hour, he is very pleased with the guitar, and says it's a really good instrument! But it did require all that work to even be playable. Here's what he has to say about it: "I didn't have especially high hopes for a guitar at this price, but when I took it out of the box I was very pleasantly surprised at the fit and finish. Five to ten years ago, cheap guitars looked terrible, but this one is very nicely finished and looks great! I mean, seriously, the next best thing after a name brand Fender. When I started playing, a few things became obvious: the action was unbelievably high, and the intonation was very poor. I am used to cheap instruments shipping with a poor setup, but the action was absolutely ridiculous, like 1/4". Not just crazy high at the bridge, but at the nut too, so it was very difficult to fret notes cleanly without touching the other strings. The intonation was also WAY out. It was poorly adjusted across the board, but I was 100% convinced that the second fret was placed incorrectly because it was almost a quarter step out of tune on any notes played on the 2nd fret. I thought the instrument was unsaveable because of this serious manufacturing defect. But I decided to give it a thorough setup to see how far that got me. The intonation was much improved after actually setting the bridge, but the first three frets were still badly out of tune and all chords sounded like garbage. When I filed the nut, I was amazed at 1) how much I had to lower the action at the nut to make it playable and 2) that all intonation problems were solved! Apparently the action was so absurdly high that simply fretting a note bent the string many cents sharp. After spending over an hour adjusting everything that can be adjusted, the guitar plays and sounds great. If I have lost you with all the technical jargon, just know this: The guitar is completely unplayable and sounds awful unless it is thoroughly worked over(for more than an hour) by an experienced guitar technician. Once it has had this treatment, it's a great instrument." ... show more

  • A Great value for the price
I play a bit of guitar, but new to electric guitars and this is a great kit. For this price point I was blown away. I have it in my office in my business and I look waaaaaaay cool with this setup. A great sound too (what I can get out of it with the chords I know lol). An amazing gift too for anyone looking to get into music of any kind or even fill out a room. Everything was packaged well. I have nothing bad to say about this kit. Insane value. ... show more
