The battery works great. The battery life on 100% lasts you about 2-3 hours. Put in your battery, play until it dies, and THEN charge it to 100 again. Playing on it while plugged in, probably isn’t a good idea. The very first use it’ll die relatively quickly. The uses after will be fine. Fits perfectly in the pad, just needs a little push once aligned right. The only “problem” was the screwdriver it came with. I had to use my own bit.

I wouldn't use the screwdriver it came with unless you have no choice, but otherwise this is great. Resurrected my dead WiiU gamepad, which had basically no battery life left due to over a decade of repeated discharges.

No, this is not a true 3600mah battery pack, but it is an upgrade over the stock 1500mah Nintendo battery. But, it should at least be equal to the capacity of a new genuine nintendo 1500mah pack. Without a load test, weight is a good indicator of battery capacity, assuming all good cells. The original nintendo pack is around 45 grams, while this generic is 64 grams. Considering about a 5 gram difference in shell weight, you've got ~30% extra capacity. My math measure up with my real world test, where I kept a game running in an identical scenario for both batteries. For the original Nintendo battery, I was getting roughly 3 hours. For this generic battery pack, I got about 4 hours runtime. This is definitely better than the stock battery, assuming the cells don't quickly fail over time. The nintendo cells have held up admirably for 10 years, and I can only hope these will last half as long. But honestly, if your stock battery is still getting you 3 hours, you may as well stick with it or target a higher capacity battery (6000-8000). Generic battery capacities are known to fall precipitously over time.

By now if you're still running off the original manufacture's battery on your Wii u device, the capacity has likely severely diminished. A viable replacement is a quick installation away, providing a little over double the original battery's rated capacity. Simply pop off the back plate for the battery compartment with the included mini screw driver, pop out the old one and slide in the new. You're now ready to enjoy the Wii u the way its meant to be with a few easy steps. I would have rated this battery 5 stars, but I did run into a slight hiccup which could just be limited to the battery pack I received (based off other reviewers not reporting the same issue). The part of the battery that plugs into the Wii u pad refused to slot in correctly, requiring me to pop off the whole back plate to access the plug slot a little easier (better angle). Once I got it to slide in properly which was a lot easier without that the pad's back cover, the battery then had no issue properly sliding in & out with the back covered placed back on. It may have been something along the lines of a misaligned or bent pin or pins which straighten out once I was able to get it seated properly into the slot. Just as an important side note, the old battery will be slightly smaller than the replacement weighing in at 46g (1500mAh), while the newer JUBOTY replacement battery weights in at 64g (3600mAh). Due to its size, the new battery will be seated in a different position that the battery its replacing (images provided showing the difference). Battery is still being tested to confirm its capacity, but so far so good. Will update this review if things change.

I got this to replace the older, smaller battery in our Wii U GamePad, and it’s honestly thrilling how much better it’s working now! The install was quick, and the GamePad lasts way longer between charges. The added playtime makes a huge difference—this upgrade really brought new life to our old system.

A good solution to aging Wii U batteries but with one major flaw. The connector on this battery is NOT the same as the item battery. The slots where the gamepad pins go into the battery connector are way too small. See my picture with the original battery on top and this one on bottom. You can force the battery in if you try but this risks bending the pins on the gamepad PCB causing quite the headache and a dead gamepad. If you get this battery I would highly recommend carving out a bit of the plastic on the connector before attempting to install. The battery housing is well designed though and perfectly fits in the horizontal orientation. Other than that battery life seems as expected. Don't have the equipment to test the actual capacity but definitely is better than the original battery. Overall I'd probably stay away from this due to the connection if there is another option similar in price.
