I bought this to be a rim salt caddy for margaritas in my home bar. It's much better than the ugly black clunky ones that hog shelf space and can't be disassembled to wash an individual compartment. The overall design is much better than others I looked at. The extra wide base helps keep it standing when you swivel the upper levels open. However, the top/lid piece is pretty flimsy and its the exact same size as the tray opening, so it falls inside and warps. It literally came outta the box that way. If they made the top a bit larger, even just 1/8" extra around, it would be fine, but a bit thicker material would be even better. I'm going to keep it and see if I can make a better top piece for it. (I'm a fixer. Lol)

I'll be honest, at first, I was a bit disappointed in how small this organizer is; but now I'm glad it is. I'd intended this to help organize my makeup and skin care items - well, it's too small for that. BUT, it's perfect for other things. I'm using it now to organize those tiny things that always seem to get lost - earring backs, hair ties, false nails and eyelashes, those extra buttons you get with new clothes, those magnetic clasps that make necklaces easier to put on and take off, etc., etc. I am considering ordering another one for the odds and ends that always fall to the bottom of my sewing kit, also - the extra buttons is one of those things, but there are others, since I do a lot of embroidery and have tons of extra pieces from kits I wanted to put in this, but ran out of tiers! The organizer is lightweight but well made - it doesn't tip over easily. The material isn't high-quality, but it's sufficient considering the size and weight of the items you'd store in it. It's easy to operate and I love that I can tighten it so that the tiers are a little more stable and harder to turn, or loosen it to make them easier to turn. This isn't a perfect item, but it's perfect for my needs, however unexpected and different from what I thought they would be - thinking about all the different ways this could come in handy, bathroom, kitchen, crafts, medicine cabinet - its amazing how many tiny items there are to keep track of! Five stars.

As you can see it just arrived and I already put it to use helping me sort a box of small stuff more commonly known as "useful junk". Buttons, stamps, paper clips, twist ties, etc. Of course I'm not going to keep it this way, it'll end up in my craft room. But it sure came in handy while I sorted through that junk box. Because after I was done and the organizer was full I just picked it up and walked around the house putting everything where it was supposed to go in the first place. There's nothing that I like more than organization because it makes life so much easier when you know where everything is. This little organizer is small, cute, and can come in very handy in so many ways. It looks like it's made well enough to hold up for quite awhile with reasonable care. I think it would make a thoughtful gift for anyone who likes being organized as much as I do.
