I have the PR36BP model. Was tedious to install because there is no template but my husband made his own with cardboard. The lights are nice (not SUPER bright) but it works for me. The sound does seem a little loud on high suction but I really don’t use that option much. Spoke to gasland direct about replacement lights/filters. You can get them. Filters are $24 for the set of 3 for my model, and lights are $19 for a set of 2. ... show more

I really like the look of this range hood Unfortunately to my surprise there were 2 dents on the front of the hood. Not sure how they got there because it was packaged very good. Very disappointing. It’s not the kind of item that you can just send back for an exchange either

    • The lights are a letdown
The hood is beautiful and the suction is great but the lights are non replaceable and very dim. I was hoping for bright lights for cooking as I have no overhead lighting. Other than that its great. Getting undercabinet lighting to help.

Pictures are very confusing. Upon closer inspection, some of the pictures show the lighting in the front and some show the lighting in the back. I thought I was buying a hood with the lights in the front of the hood, but no, I received a hood with the lights in the back of the hood. Yes, this may seem like a small detail, but I am married. The installation was pretty easy, suction seems sufficient, and it looks nice as well. The hood that is.     • Gasland Chef - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Gasland Chef - not so much a company - more a collection of employees who are only good at one thing - saying NO. No, we will not provide new parts. No, we will not provide customer service. No, we will not ever think the customer is right. The only reason Gasland Chef has customers is to mistreat them and know that there is very little that the PAYING customer can do - thanks Gasland Chef - you know that you treat customers like garbage. We purchased the Gasland Chef 30" hood for a newly remodeled house - the contractor installed it - the contractor has 30+ years experience - and has installed hundreds of hoods. This was not an easy install, and the contractor berated us for purchasing such a strange unit. On the first day, the hood worked. The second day the button for the lights stopped bouncing back - the lights were now permanently on. That same day the fan stopped working. We called Gasland Chef - and they asked for a photo of the hood. A photo was supplied. They would not replace the hood or provide a new button bar. Gasland Chef has no technicians to come and resolve the issue. The customer service is calm and pleasant - but that is to be expected - since they are never really going to provide customer service - so there is no need to stress or take the job seriously - because in the end - they do not provide customer service - only a buffer between the incompetence of the company leadership and the customers. After the photo was provided - they wanted a video of the hood not working. That's correct - they kept moving the goal line - We spent the next 14 days calling customer service every day to discuss the issues - no resolution. Finally, we begged them to send us a new button bar - then the next insult - Gasland Chef says yes we will ship you a new button bar for $30 - $30 for a button bar - that we already paid for - but it does not work - some places and policies are incompetent and incongruent to any customer satisfaction - and Gasland Chef does this very well. Gasland Chef - will promise to treat you as if you are stupid. Gasland Chef - will promise to treat you as a lier. Gasland Chef - will promise to treat you as a thief. Gasland Chef - will promise to provide listening only but no actual customer service. Thank you, Gasland Chef, for showing us that it is possible to make money and mistreat others - you are a shining star in this arena. We very much appreciate the consistent incompetence and value their total lack of integrity. We bow to the overall ego - but then again - it does take a bit of malice to have a whole company act this way. Do yourself a favor - check out the company's abysmal rating from the BBB before purchasing. UPDATE - as of 15 March 2022 Gasland Chef reached out to me after we posted the review. Cassie - with no last name was asking that we take the review down. We agreed we would amend the review if we got a replacement hood and that the replacement worked as intended. Cassie said that we had to wait until they manufactured a hood and then they would send a new hood - Cassie asked us to wait approximately 10 days. We agreed to wait - we only asked for a tracking number on the replacement hood when it was shipped. After we waited patiently - we were then told (via email) that the replacement hood was not manufactured as of the promised date and asking if we could wait a bit longer. How much longer was not specified by Cassie. We replied with a specific request for a full refund and we would send back the old hood. Today we were told that they are processing the refund. We are not holding our breath for a refund as Gasland Chef is inconsistent as a rule. In the same email - saying GC was processing the refund - we were asked to take down our review. So sorry Gasland Chef - the review is our story of how we never ever ever received anything close to customer service from Gasland Chef - and that they are not good at anything approaching a standard of care for a business - and will continue to abuse its PAYING customers - as long as they can get away with it - Good luck with this Gasland Chef - and know that you made a friend out of a very reasonable customer. Gasland Chef - went out of the way to make the process difficult and circuitous - and only after we posted our review did we get anything resembling a reasonable response. This is reactionary and not a proactive business model for customer service. Gasland Chef spent more time on the phone and emailing us than the cost of the hood by many times over. Not sure they are thinking about the bottom line - but incompetence does have its rewards - as it allows you to go though life as a clueless blob and not pay any heed to common decency or reasonable business practices.
