Where have you been all my life?

I just received this today and wasted no time putting it together and taking it outside to test it. I live in the Ozarks and t-posts are incredibly hard to remove by hand because they are generally driven into rock. At least that's how it seems to me. This machine makes removing them so much easier. I can't believe I've lived without one for so long. It feels very sturdy, I could see the bolts maybe needing replacement at some point as they act as the hinge/fulcrum as well as hold the thing together. For the price, I don't see how you could ask for more.

I just got this yesterday. I’m a small woman. As hard as it is to pound a t-post in from a step ladder, it’s even worse trying to remove one! This puller came with no directions on assembly or use. Luckily some reviewers gave some advice but I think people like me need a little more. So, put it together as the Amazon photos show. I’m assuming the big hole in the floor plate is to bolt it to a piece of 2x8 or something like that. I tried resting the unit on a 2x10 but I couldn’t get the right height so I ended up putting it on the dirt and got it to work. You’ll want to put the base very close to the t-post to get enough leverage. Put the small plate on the t-post with the nubs on the post on the opposite side of the puller handle. Lean the puller toward the post to get the U of the small attachment at the base of a nub, then push the handle down. I had to reposition it manually every time I needed to move down to the next nub but I’ll bet someone more experienced could just let the U slide down under the next nub, kind of like in old movies where someone pumps water from a well. The puller is made of heavy metal and seems sturdy, but expect the pretty red coating to chip off as you use it. I’m glad I bought it because I would have to dig up the posts if I didn’t have it.

Less than what I expected - continuous threads on bolts

The bolts have continuous threads. Not the correct length for each part. Not a high strength material or grade for the bolts. No washers to help the puller bolts keep from rubbing on the frame. I haven't used it yet but probably would not buy it now that I have seen the poor assembly. Went to Tractor Supply and bought all new nuts, washers and bolts.
