The Pick For Life 36" Fire Pit Mat fits under my Wakeyard Firepit perfectly and provides protection to the area under and around my firepit. It is an ultra-thin mat and provides a smooth stable surface under my firepit. As the attached photo displays, I have the firepit set up on my lawn. I don't believe there is a level place on my property anywhere, hence the reason the mat doesn't lay flat around the perimeter of my firepit. I also didn't try to be fussy with it as the appearance doesn't matter much to me. It serves the purpose to protect the area around my firepit from embers that fall over the side of the firepit. The firepit mat also allows me to now bring my firepit unto my patio. Before I got it, I wasn't comfortable with a firepit set on the wood floor of my patio. With the Pick For Life firepit mat, I can feel secure that embers that fall over the side of my firepit will land on the fireproof surface and not cause a hazard to my home. I see the firepit mat as versatile that can be used for other purposes when not in use under my firepit. It is oil and stain resistant so it can be used for messy projects to keep a surface clean and protected. I work outside all the time, and when a storm rolls in quickly, I often throw a tarp over things, so I don't have to run everything to the garage to pull it back outside a short time later. The firepit mat provides protection from moisture on the ground. I am very happy with the Pick For Life 36" Fireproof Fire Pit Mat. I feel it is a must have to provide protection under a firepit, most especially on a patio or deck and I highly recommend it.

This fire pit mat is made of some sort of heavy, black rubber/plastic material that folds easily and unfolds and lays flat when you set it out. The instructions mention to keep separated from the heat source by 8 inches but this is not enough to protect grass from browning/dying, so keep that in mind before using it. I would have given this 5 stars if it had included a radiant barrier on the bottom like I have on another fire pit mat I purchased several years ago at a similar price point. For a basic grill mat, this will do the trick if used on sand or concrete, so I will use it without hesitation for my BBQ grill to catch grease drips but for use with a firepit, I do not expect this mat to last for more than a couple times due to the absence of a radiant barrier. If I am proven wrong, I will gladly update this review in the future.

This is the perfect size and shape for a kettle grill or Weber bullet. 3 feet diameter is big enough to cover the whole projected area with good margin. I'm using it to protect my wood deck from the heat from the low charcoal pan of my medium and large Weber Smokey Mountain cooker. Before this I was using a big rectangular steel tray. It is quite thin, thinner than a Silpat baking liner for instance, but also feels durable and its believable that it will stand up to the heat. I don't know if I need the logo, but I think it is reversible if I wanted it to just be black. The wrinkles don't look great, but I expect them to fade with time and temperature cycling while laying flat. The grill feet will probably make permanent impressions if left on all of the time. I keep the small Weber stowed until usage, but have included a picture of it laid in the spot, as well as a picture of the larger Weber on the steel tray It would also fit on this 36" circle, the deck boards are nominally 2x6s. An advantage of this over the steel tray is that it can be folded or rolled for storage and takes up very little space.

Setting a small tabletop charcoal grill on one of the old picnic tables at our local state park is not a good idea as the wood in the tables is very dry and worn. Unfortunately, our favorite park does not have enough funding to replace them, so we haven’t felt we could safely use the grill on top of any of those dried-out picnic tables until we got this Pick for Life Fire Pit Mat, which we used this past weekend. Our little grill does have legs, and we put 4 thick flat rocks under the 4 legs to raise it to the recommended 8 inches above the mat. The mat unfolds to a smooth flat surface and folds or rolls into a compact package between uses. After cooling and cleaning out the grill, I tucked the mat inside the grill under the cover so it’s handy for our next picnic. Grease drips and some stray ashes wiped off with a damp paper towel. Excellent value for a very useful safety feature for outdoor cooking equipment.

We ordered this item to use as a liner under our fire pit on our deck, and although the 36" is a little bit smaller than I anticipated, it works well, protecting the space underneath it from permanent burn marks. There is a larger size, but it wasn't available at the time of my order - sometimes embers get jumpy and extra room around the edges would help. It is on the thinner side, comes folded in a box, and it is double sided (you can turn it over). The logo is pretty in my opinion, and is only on one side if you don't care for it. So far, it's been a good protective layer and has not burned through or get stuck to the floor due to heat. It is practical, lightweight and easy to lay down/pick up/clean. The price is reasonable for the utility, and the 48" size is even a better deal. Overall a very useful item to have!

Got this mat for my Weber sitting on a wooden dock, definitely didn’t wanna risk charring the boards. It works well so far, catches all the hot ash and grease drips without burning. It’s lightweight but still feels tough, and folds easily when not in use. Happy I grabbed it, my dock still look clean after grilling.
