This Japanese soaking tub is very beautiful. The wood is cedar and polished absolutely smooth both inside and out. The brass trim just gives it more elegance. I have the tub sitting in a step down shower that I do not use. I have not hooked up the drain hose to the existing shower drain, but just let the water out and it goes down the drain. The tub can be repoistioned as it is not heavy. HOWEVER, the grate it came in was very heavy and well built. I absolutely love, the heat is retained for a long time. Just be prepared that it is may be on the smaller size for many people. I am 5 ft 2 in. Anyone who comes in and sees it absolutely love it!

So far, so good! Dealing with the shipping crate was not fun, but the tub arrived safe and snug within. I needed to hammer in a few tiny nails around the bottom that were just barely popping out (enough to scrape an ankle in the shower), and there are a few rough patches but mostly it was excess adhesive that I could scrape off. So, an hour to unpack, an hour to deal with the crate, 15 minutes to bang in the little nails and check for scratchy spots, and about 10 minutes to fill halfway, and then I’ll get in while it finishes filling up. It is divine, and retains heat very well. It looks so cute, and seems like it will be durable, and we can move it around in the shower, so it can be under the showerhead or out of the way and filled up with the handheld. I’m so pleased!

It stays warm for probably more than an hour. It's small and is a little bit cramped for moving around and stretching out. It works good for my small basement bathroom.

This tub runs SMALL. I wish it was just a few inches longer. Width and depth are about perfect and build quality is quite good. It was shipped from China in a heavy crate (so not a “Japanese” soaking tub). It takes two people to uncrate and move it. Overall, we’re quite happy with it. Just wish it had just a little extra length.

My Irish skin loves the little tub. At first it was tough to bend my 73 year old 5’7 frame into but after doing it for a few times no more problems. I’m able to use magnesium salts and my dry Irish skin sure feels the difference. I’m using much less skin cream and it lasts longer. It also helps with my eczema.

This wooden tub is absolutely adorable with amazing beautiful quality. Came carefully packed in a big wooden box that I kept for storage. I would give it 5 stars but my husband who weighs 170 and 5'9" cannot fit in it. Your knees have to be pretty good to sit with them bent up during sitting bath. I will enjoy it and it looks amazing in our bathroom though.
